On that point of “the shotgun myth”, it’s really just a balancing thing. I would watch arch’s video if you want to learn more on it, but irl, shotguns’ lethal range with buckshot is something like 75 yards, and with slugs, it’s over 100 yards. Basically, shotguns are unrealistic in games because in the real world they’re not supposed to be balanced, just overpowered.
