In the video you use com 5 for SDRuno and would CSV User List then be com 6? Does it need a com port? Also, if you had other programs, would they also be com 6? How does this work? I wish you had followed through on that. I know this was about setting up, but I need the punch line (examples). Then all this makes sense.

When I do it, it shows "COM#" for each in the pair. I can rename it and it shows up in device manager but as a pair, not individual. Can't connect to them at all. I guess its not compatible with Windows 10 x64.

I downloaded com0com and installed it ok but in the setup for virtual port pair 1 it shows COM# and COM# instead of COM1 and COM2. what did I do wrong and how do I fix it. Thanks, Mike

You mentioned "in previous videos you showed how to setup VSPE". I used the search option to search your videos for "VSPE" and ETERLOGIC" but could not find the video's. Could you update the description section to include an additional link to them? Thanks in advanced.

I am getting closer. You have to have already installed .NET before the install will work as the video. Now I get the setup screen but instead of port numbers, I get # instead of a number like the video.

Tom, I had the same issue as you after installing with the COM#; i went into device manager and opened up the com port that was installed, I noticed a yellow triangle next them; I then updated the driver. Went back to the setup for comOcom and COM 3 & COM 4 showed up for me. Might want to see if the driver needs updated. I'm running Win 10. Hope that helps

Seems this is working fine with only one VRX. But what if you want to control 2 VRX independently from each other through omni-rig ? I installed two com0com virtual Com Port sets. COM1/2 and COM3/4. assigned COM1 to VRX0 and COM3 to VRX1. In omni-rig I set Rig1 to COM2 and Rig2 to COM4 (TS-480). Now when I start the controlling Software0 both VRX follow only Rig1. No control from Software1 over VRX1. Has this been tested and found working for you ?
@SDRplayRSP3 жыл бұрын
Not sure why you're trying to use both? Usually it's either OmniRig - between SDRuno and the rig, or Virtual COM port - between SDRuno and other 3rd party software. To answer your question, VRX SETTings - ORIG determines which rig the VRX will respond to.

I still don't know the use of com0com. i was mucking around for a bit and became clueless. Lets say I Have COM1, having my serial data coming in . I need 2 Apps to simultaneously connect to COM1, which is not possible, So I create COM2 and COM3 virtual ports, But how to instruct the com0com that COM1 => COM2 COM1 => COM3 ?
@molnez5 жыл бұрын
When you add a serial pair you get two new ports. One reads what the other writes. Say you add a virtual port pair, COM1 and COM2. If your app writes on COM1 it can be read on COM2, and vice versa. In the case you describe Where COM1 is used for writing and you need to 2 apps to read the data I would create an additional virtual pair, lets say COM3 and COM4. When the first app reads COM2 it can then re transmit that data on COM3 wich will be read by the 2nd app that reads on COM4.

As mentioned by others, this does not seem to work for Windows11 64 bit. Something to do with needing "signature". Matthew John Crittenden suggests somehow turning off a signing requirement in the BIOS....Is that safe? Thanks for the help!
@SDRplayRSP5 ай бұрын
Can’t really comment on that. You might want to try VSPE instead.

this sounds interesting... now, sync the virtual serial port with regedit dtr cts along with function hotkey F11 F12 commands... thanks a lot...:)
@normsnyder27134 жыл бұрын
This will not work with Windows 10 because Windows 10 requires signed drivers. The signed driver provided by com0com is old and does not apply to Windows 10. Do not try to circumvent signed driver requirement as it is a very important security feature. The author of com0com needs to proved a signed driver specific to Windows 10. Until he does this I would not attempt any work around.
@normsnyder27134 жыл бұрын
I stand corrected. Going into device manager and updating the driver works.

@@SDRplayRSP Later versions of Windows enforce a certificate check for the driver, see my latest comment. There is a workaround. (edit) It may have worked for you as you had an older or upgraded version of Windows 10 when you installed it (legacy drivers).

See my latest comment, com0com works if you disable driver certificate checking in the BIOS, I've just done that and it installs OK.
