Shane, your tutorial is by far the best one that I have found. I am struggling though on assigning the static IP addresses. Would you have directions for that or be able to point to a tutorial that addresses how to do this? I'm attempting to follow your tutorial on a windows 10 Pro machine running Hyper-v to create the VMs. Thanks!

Hi Howard. I would look at DNS and Gateway settings make sure it all makes sense.

Hi Shane, just installed SP 2016 on premis and havbing all sort of problems with SQL services etc failing to logon after a server reboot (local logon failure). Do you think it is safe to add the SP AD service accounts to the local policy "logon as a service"? As soon as I did this all services logged on and started automatrically as I was watching. Thanks for any advice. Garry.

Is this for sql server reporting service or something like that? What sql services?

+Shane Young - Well it's just a test environment so I have SP and SQL both installed on the same Win 2012 R2 VM, so yes it the AD SQL service account when installing SP and connecting to the SQL server. Not ideal I know but it works. So when the SQL AD service account is not added to the log on as a service GP SQL fails to start whenever I reboot the server and forces a password reset. However this doesn't seem to be a problem when added the service acct to the local GP. Was just wondering if that is a security risk in your opinion. Thanks, Gaz (Garry).

I will really appreciate if you would go real world sharepoint server setup, showing disk layout, resources allocation for vms in Dell R720 or any other powerful server. Scenario is network setup for 500 users including sharepoint/ exchange server and licensing costs. if its not possible then atleast you can discuss such setup on whiteboard.

At 34:27 you say "get interal IP address". Where would I find mins? Am I taking the IP configuration of my host computer and using it for the Domain Controller? Stuck on this part. I get "the network path was not found" when trying to change Domain name for sql and sp server

Need to come up with an IP address that is valid on your network. What is the IP address of your computer? Maybe I can help you guess.

@@Naburazz I decided to create a single server and split the programms on drives, which worked out for me. I wasn't able to successfully use my IP to create the multiserver farm
