Thank you Cheryl, these paintings are absolutely beautiful! I like using letters, number, lines and sometimes collage to my paintings. For some reason, I'm especially fond of circles!

You are so welcome! We are much alike!!! Circles are such a sign of wholeness, original perfection, the Self, the infinite, eternity, timelessness, and cyclic movements, so I see why!!

Unique art Cheryl, I’ve been painting for around six years now’. Almost daily in my little 10’x8’ shed studio I’m at a point where I make a mark with a brush load of paint’ in a colour of whatever happens to be nearest mainly it’s a mixture of black and blue I made up, then add further colours to the image I use veils of diluted paint throw on some sand make pencil crayon lines ‘ and then remove some of the paint with paper towels or old credit cards along with a number of tools. The aim is to make a painting look good or decent from what starts as a blob of paint slammed or placed on the canvas, no pressure as the decent ones in my opinion go in a bag when dry, but it’s fun sometimes! It’s a technique I use when I get a creativity block until the next spark comes along’. Keep up the good work thank you for sharing

I like to add inktense indigo somewhere. I also like hiding a mark or sticking in a piece of my college I make on tissue paper. I am new to art but love adding things that might stick out haha Sometimes I can't stop I get so deep and end up with layers. I enjoy your art and thank you for sharing and teaching! ❤

Addicted to your lessons….do you gesso paper first…
@CherylWilsonArt

I rarely do, but many artists do. I like the way paint soaks into the paper and canvas a lot so do not gesso!!

Hi Cheryl - I had a Canvas with an oil primer in burnt umber. It had been sitting in my art room for year. I got tired of looking at it so I painted over the oil primer in acrylic…why was I not supposed to do that, please?
@CherylWilsonArt
@CherylWilsonArt 5 ай бұрын
I do not use oil much except in oil bars and only on the top as a layer, so I am not the most proficient in answering your question. What i am told by oil painters is that the acrylic might chip off.
