Polar HD 1200 Trailer Review - ATV Trailer

Here is our Polar HD 1200 Trailer review! This is such an easy trailer to hook up and pull with our ATV. Very helpful on our land for just about everything.
We recently purchased this polar clam trailer to help with some work around our future homestead land and having used it several times now we are very happy with it!

I have had mine for an 5 years now. I mostly use it for hauling gravel and rock for building ATV trails. It has been a very good trailer. I definitely recommend getting the hitch ball attachment if you are hauling heavy loads on rough trials

My first impression when I saw this trailer was that it looked very much like the old Victorian style bathtubs. With a few paint tarps hung between trees, you could have a very private soaking tub bath. Good job in putting the trailer together from those pictured diagrams. Hope you are still enjoying your great adventure

Liking your video and Joining your network - My 22 Cubic Foot Polar went together so darn fast that I never mad ea video on putting it together... and I love the thing. I use it with my Toro Zero Turn mower, I bought an extra hitch without a ball ($15) to tow it around with my truck, and I was using it just yesterday as a wheel barrow... I love the thing! I also love your video - excellent job! Watching and Supporting - LIKING your video!

i got a new 7 cubic foot gorilla dump cart a few weeks back at my local lowe's, about 180 something with tax, 4 tires, i can pull it with either my lawn tractor or my atv or even as a wagon by hand , i haven't used it yet but i like it and it's really well built

This one is15 cubic feet, but four tires is nice! You will love how convenient it is I am sure :-)

@@CreatingASimplerLifeOffGrid mine isn't as big as yours, 1200 lb rating i think but i'll never put that much in it, yes the 4 tires is great, yours is easier to back up, i got mine because we live on a dirt road here in florida and when it rains,, there goes the road :), now i can finally use this and my atv and not the wheel barrel

They had these at Tractor Supply! Thanks for the review! I have a small steel one that I use behind the ATV and its cheap and small I deff want to upgrade soon. I see they have this one and a double axle one as well! I think Id go with the double axle cause Im mostly doing firewood with it!

Glad I watched the entire video. I just purchased my first four wheeler and I’m about to buy my childhood home that has 4 acres of land and runs into the forest. If I were to get this trailer I would need to put holes in the side of the sled so I could ratchet strap my load down. I’m looking at other options though. If you have any suggestions I’m all ears.

Well, not sure what you would be ratcheting down, but thinking probably brush. Up to now we handle large brush piles by laying it on a large loggers chain, wrapping the load and dragging it with the atv (posting a video showing this later today). We just ordered a large wood chipper so that will be our new solution. Other options: they do sell sides for the trailer (about 80 bucks on Amazon - check them out: amzn.to/317Zfsy). It also has a lip around the edge that you could use a long bungee cord on. However the plastic on this trailer is pretty thick so you probably could put some holes in the sides and use some sort of heavy duty trim (like this: amzn.to/2OzEVir) to protect both the plastic and the strap from wearing. We can measure the thickness of the plastic as soon as Monday when we get back up there if you're interested.

@@thekentuckian0054 I was just wandering, I seen your comment on that video and thought I would reach out to you. I have a polar 1500, its a little bigger than the one in the video, we've had it for roughly 9 years and I would buy it again at the drop of a hat. I use mine for hauling wood,grass clippings,dirt,rocks,brush and people, everyone likes a trailer ride. I have had the thing loaded to the gills with firewood even pulling it through a creek numerous times and knock on wood no issues with durability. I had to replace the wheel bearings once and they about due for a new set because of mud and water crossings but thats it. I have the single axle because at the time we got it didn't have the extra for the dual axle, and I honestly don't think I have had a time where the duals were necessary. I use it on hills almost as much as flatland. I seen where you said about putting holes in it to tie your load down and the company that makes them sells side rail kits that might work for you. I think the side rails are around 120 bucks. Didn't mean to chew on your ear for that long, but I figured I'd tell you how it's worked for us. A buddy of mine bought a trailer that he found for sale used, the guy bought it at tractor supply I don't remember the brand but he got it for a decent price, I asked him how he likes it and he said its alright but he wishes he would've got one like ours. Did you have to cut the end of the tounge to put the ball hitch on or does it go over top of it?

Its a separate piece that bolts on. We didn’t cut it at all.
