At this point I can’t say these organizers will work for everyone. But I like them the most 00:00 Take a piece of paper. A4 00:06 Fold it to have 3rd size 00:32 Take the thick felt. The thicker the better. 2mm is ideal 00:49 Cut 2-4 cm of it. Depends on your needle. It should be a little bit bigger than a needle length 01:07 Take a sewing machine. You can do it by hands. But with machine is faster 01:10 Sew them together 01:34 Remove extra fabric 01:43 Print /write the colours numbers. There should be 3 columns. Numbers in the middle. For 3mm puncher I have up to 62 rows on one page. But it is super close! 01:47 Add tape on top of it. It become more durable 02:16 When you print it try to add 1.5 cm borders on top and the bottom. For later fixing 02:48 I use 3mm puncher to make it in a smaller size 02:53 Make first row of holes for needles on the left side 03:05 Place the paper on the pallete to see the fabric through holes 03:15 Fix it with the tape 04:27 Add two rows of holes for threads 4:48 Floss keeper. Cut the floss to 1m. 3mm holes can hold 16 threads, but it will be tight 06:23 Pull the threads over two holes 07:14 Add needles 07:57 Put the thread to a bag 08:28 Fix them with staples on both sides 08:49 You can add a couple flosses to the bag to have them in one place 08:57 Make a ladder from them 09:07 Fix with binder clips 09:28 Hide the bag on the back 10:01 My 1 year old organizer. It is still good. I just need to brush it one in a couple month to keep it neat 10:07 It fits the trestles perfectly 10:17 Blends organizer 10:21 There are two columns for numbers. First number in blue on the first columns. I don’t repeat it if there are several of them. Second number in black 10:25 Add tape 10:49 Cut it 11:23 Make two rows of holes 11:46 Add extra paper below holes. So needles are hidden and do not catch threads 12:22 Fit the paper to the pallete to see the fabric through both holes. I use tape for it 13:09 Add all the needles. Those ones that already were in use - to the top row. Extra ones - to the second row 13:31 Make a sheet from them. No need to switch. Fit the trestles 14:59 Make a book. So you can easily switch them. Take less space overall Happy stitching! 😘💐

I just made an organizer for my HAED. I LOVE it! It makes my stitching so much more enjoyable and efficient. It was well worth the time to make. I created the cards and then added the floss a few minutes here and there, even while waiting at the doctor office. (I use thick paper to print and then laminated it, since my tape was too thick for my hole punch. I sewed felt to card stock. Basically I used what I had.) (I never comment on KZbin…but this was such a game changer for me that I had to comment.)

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for showing us your organizer cards! I finally broke down and did this with one of my HAEDs and I already LOVE IT! Lord the amount of money I've wasted on organizers when I could have just made ones for each project! 🤦♀ I have been using pakos but it was a pain to use on the go, and I was always afraid that my hanging floss would get dusty or dirty cause this project will take me years! I'm one of these crazy people who pack around my HAED 🤪 This not only saved me time, and space, but now I don't have to worry about loosing needles off the pakos or crushing the pakos and needles in the huge bag I was having to use. Now it all fits right in a normal size project bag and it just tosses the project bag in my big purse and go! Yes it took time to make, but its well worth it in the end and keeps the hanging floss clean! BTW instead of using clips I used washi tape and taped the whole bag folded, now when I need to add more floss, i can just break the tape, add, and just put more tape on it and carry on. And it created a pocket for the threaded needle threads to be tucked into! What a great idea! 🥰

That’s so great you like it! It took me several iterations to come up with this idea and I shared it because I truly feel it is very good one. Over a year I did change it just for a little bit, but don’t want to change it completely. And I noticed as well that if I have flosses hanging for long time without a bag they become visibly worse. Not even because of the dirt, but because of moving them there and back. Agree, travelling with such organizer should be much easier. Regarding tape vs binders, I agree. It is a wick part. Binders catch thread sometimes and fly away. For my old organizer I made small holes on the sides and and fixed them with a thick thread. And fixed with type on the back. But still thinking if there is a better way of doing things. Probably, your idea just type it is a brilliant one! Yeah, those bought ones organizers not very chip and you come home with them and find out they are not still ideal 🙀 Anyway. Glad you like it! 🥰 hope it helps you stitch your full coverage designs faster. Happy stitching! 😘💐

One more benefit with the bag - threads do not become fluffy over time if you don’t use it as often. +1 that I don’t need to reinvent a wheel with those threads, that I don’t need for the time being. Hey hey! I have tried this method and I am really liking it so far! However I have one question. Sometimes when I pull one thread from the floss, it becomes knotted and I have to pull out the entire strand to unknot it. Have this ever happend to you? And if yes? What did you try as a solution?
@StitchingMasterpiecesАй бұрын
Not sure if it is the same, but I call it “caterpillar” when I pull one strand and the full thread goes out beneath the hole. It happens to me very rarely. In most cases it is happen if I was too lazy to put the new floss in a right way. If I just push them without disassembling the organizer just in a visible part of a bag - all the threads are not straightened. If I disassemble the organizer for the particular bag, place the new threads so they straight and go all the way to the bottom, usually there is no caterpillars happen. Hope it helps 🤗

Thank you for the kind words! For sure you can share all my ideas on your channel if you find them helpful. Happy if somebody else gets ideas for it. If you can mention my channel it would be very helpful. Especially at this point of time when I work hard to turn on monetization. Sometimes I think about making my organizers for selling, but with my regular job, two stitching channels (second one in my native language), stitching itself I just simply do not have time for another time consuming initiative. And, you know, if I fill in it with all threads, it might be pricy. Dms floss multiply by 460 would cost a lot! 🙀

@@StitchingMasterpieces i know. That is weird. It may be because i have a fair amount of people that subscribe just for the hardanger tutorials. Then another amount of people just for the other tutorials and tips. Although that is just me rationalizing 🙃. So i really dont worry about views, etc. if folks like what i have to offer that is great. If not there are lots of channels out there to watch

@victoriab30533 күн бұрын
@@StitchingMasterpieces hola!! El problema es q al tirsr de una hebra el resto de hilos se sube hacia la parte superior de la bolsa y algunas veces se lían y no sale la hebra. No se si es porque las hebras son demasiado largas unas y otras mas cortas. No sé.
@StitchingMasterpieces3 күн бұрын

@StitchingMasterpieces3 ай бұрын
Yeah! I tried many options as well, but this current one seems the best one so far. And 1 meter thread looks easy to stitch with and no need to needle it too often. 8 yards at a time would be too much for me. However, I stitch silk pattern with 3 metres thread and it works fine. Probably sometime next week I’ll show how it looks like 🤞

This must take a long time. I admit being too lazy to be this organized. I use small snack baggies with an index card identifying the floss number and assigned stitching mark. I place the floss inside the baggie and the threaded needle (I use a lot of needles, too). Then, I pull the baggies as needed.

Yeah, I know that it is difficult to find time to make an organizer like this. I always feel that I would better to stitch instead. But what helps me that I usually make organizer when I don’t want to stitch. Or just have about 5 mins. And usually, such organizer take about 2-3 hours to complete, but saves much more while stitching a big project. I find right colour much faster Your way for keeping threads and needle I use for silk project. It does not contain too many colours and I use very long threads to stitch. So, my usual organizer does not work as well

Hi Coral! I have some doubts that after laminating I will be able to make holes. Even with 3 layers of paper it is a challenge to make 1500 holes. I have thought about adding a layer of plastic (something like table cover for kids) on the back. But my organizer did not become bad over this year, so, probably, it is not needed. And another idea would use this plastic as a main material. And add numbers on it. But did not try it actually.
