This performance in particular of Let Love In has always been my favorite, simply and primarily due to Conway Savage's forward presence in it. I pull this up and about two bars into it, I start sobbing. Ugly, ugly face cry - I had the sudden realization that I will never see him play again. Everyone has their favorite Beatle. My favorite Bad Seed was this sweet man. I don't know if I could ever see NCATBS play this song without him.

I've seen a few video's that are post- heroin addiction but I wonder if he relapsed. Supposedly he kicked in 1989 (ironically his best storytelling music was pre-1989). I don't know... he looks a bit numb in my opinion and on heroin lights can be awful bright or his eyes could be half closed, who knows, just a thought.

He didn't kick it until the late 90s - when he met Susie in 1997 I think, he was still an addict. He might have been clean in/around 1989, but he relapsed a few times in the 20ish years of his heroin addiction. However I can't say anything about his state during this performance, he's just wearing sunglasses.
