Just a heads-up for anyone watching this: using pliers to squeeze batteries to "get a bit more charge" is really dangerous and not worth the risk. When you do this, you can damage the battery's casing and cause toxic chemicals to leak out. Worse, it can create short circuits inside the battery, which might make it heat up, leak, or even explode. And yes, this kind of damage can lead to fires, even if the battery is just sitting around after you’ve squeezed it. The tiny bit of extra charge you might get isn't worth risking your safety, your home, or the environment. The safest option? Recycle your used batteries properly at a collection point. Don’t try to revive them with risky hacks like this! Stay safe, everyone!

I used to use my dad's 6v bateaux charger to chage 6v woth of 1.5v batteries. When they get warm stop let them cool, and repeat. I used the same d cell batteries in my radio for 6 months ;)

While there seems to be a lot pseudo-electonics knowledge shown, I do think I will make the plastic pipe battery holder. I would probably use a round-headed bolt on the negative end and flat-headed bolt on the positive end. Maybe also use a spring and washer on one or both ends. I have always wanted to connect up a bunch of nearly dead batteries to get a little more use out of them. Could also use a larger diameter pipe the length of 1 battery to make voltage same but bring amperage up. Never wanted to spend for battery holders just to play around and experiment but making holders like this will add to the fun
@creationholic1013 сағат бұрын
Great idea! Customizing the battery holder with bolts, springs, and washers sounds creative and resourceful. Best of luck experimenting!

In Finland 🇫🇮 it is forbidden to charge batteries that are not batteries, i.e. intended for charging. Question: on what basis does the author of the video "recommend" against the instructions to charge basic batteries? Could you explain the matter? Col. hi Pentti - from Finland 🇫🇮

@@stuartmcintosh8275you can do it with a timer switching the charger off every 15 min . And not starting up again for at least 15 min. After charging twice . They are preety useless. They loose power faster. It also stress the charger . Which gets hot.

The release of hydrogen when charging is the hazard. You are allowed to charge your car battery... it is a lead acid as well... but if done inside or with the caps on... they can and do go boom. I assume too many home accidents from charging small batteries indoors. The large separation between leads helps reduce spark ignition of the hydrogen. You quite rightly pointed out this video addresses none of the know hazards associated with the batteries... and the attempt at recharging.

How about you quit being cheap and buy new batteries? The water method is dangerous as some batteries are lithium and lithium does not play well with water. We talking fire and explosions and 💀 but if you are a cheap bastard advantage do the third method specially make sure you wire into a USB cable and stick it into a the boxes and stick that box into the plug like in the video. DO NOY🚫wire to a 🔌 and stick in wall outlet or you will definitely 💀 or seriously electrozapped n fried.

This video should come with a safety warning. Maybe it's acceptable in Third World countries to open up expired batteries with pliers in India, or Bangladesh perhaps. In the West we have Safety Rules and Regulations for a reason.
@11kwright13 сағат бұрын
Just cos they are forced to do this in third world countries due to lack of affordability doesn’t mean they should be penalised for it - the way you put it. They are resourceful in these poor countries. Anyway, there are lots of rules in the non third world countries that are abused and not followed, so what say ye about that!!!! Just be grateful you can afford batteries. People should do their due diligence than follow like a sheep!!!
