Hi Carryssa! I just came across your tutorial and I love how you did this Tree of Life. I have a 30mm opalite cabochon that I had no clue what to do with. I'd like to do the same with it. Of course, I'll give you a shout out and credit for the idea...if you don't mind. Thanks a lot for sharing. God bless...

Anyway to harden this without those two tools? Can I use steel and a regular hammer? Or anything? Or does it have to be hardened?
@CreationsByCaryssa2 жыл бұрын
I'm not quite sure if using steel and a regular hammer would work as I haven't tried it before but you could definitely try. I recommend to harden the wire depending on what softness of wire you use because you don't want it to bend as you are working with it attaching the tree limbs. You could use half hard wire instead of having to hammer it but it is a bit harder to make into round shapes since its already hard. I hope this helps ❤️

Where do you get your wire? I have sensitive skin and have a hard time finding wire that won’t turn my skin different colors. This video was so easy to follow thanks!!!
@CreationsByCaryssa4 жыл бұрын
I get all of my wire from Rio Grande Jewelry Supply :) , I use Copper, Sterling Silver, Rose Gold and Gold so they have lots of options to find something that won't bother your skin :) Thank you so much and I'm glad the video was easy to follow!
@shannaobrien54544 жыл бұрын
Stay away from raw copper wire that has not been coated. If you like copper jewelry, it is best to get the coated/enameled wire to protect against skin discoloration.

How big around was the wood piece that you used to make the frame for the cabochon? Your work is exquisite!
@CreationsByCaryssa3 жыл бұрын
Hello 😊 thank you so much!! ❤️ It is a 24mm wooden dowel from the beadsmith wooden dowel set and I’ve also linked it in the description if interested! Bought my set a few years ago and use them every single day 😃

How do you know how long the wires should be and which gauge?
@CreationsByCaryssa8 күн бұрын
Hello I try to explain and go over this information in the video tutorial 💜 the first time stamp for the base is at 35 sec on length and gauge and for the branches I go over this information at 1:26. Thank you

Your work is beautiful! Did you fill in the 'empty' spaces on back with just other pieces of wire to make the wrap continous?

Hi Caryssa, loved this video! Found your work on Pinterest the other day and wanted to check out these tutorials on KZbin! I’m dying to learn how to make jewelry like you do and was wondering if you had any suggestions or recommendations on any resources for complete beginners like me who know nothing?? Any books or videos you’d recommend?
@CreationsByCaryssa4 жыл бұрын
Aww thank you! I'm so happy you found me on Pinterest! :) And honestly the way I started was just watching TONS of KZbin tutorials and there are a lot of great KZbin videos you can find you just have to find a style you are going for and give it a try and keep practicing!

Can you use round wire for the base instead of square wire?
@CreationsByCaryssa3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can use round wire, I just use the square wire for a more secure backing as the square helps hold the back a little better :D Thank you!
