I know this is 2 yo, but if anyone is reading this, I just returned the Latissima for the creatista. The latissima barely made milk hot. It didn’t get super foamy. It struggled with any type of non-cow milk. Creatista 1000x better if you just want a typical latte and it doesn’t take any longer to make or clean up

My Lattissima broke less than a week after buying it. The rubber hose couldn’t suck up the milk sometimes, until one time, the heating element came on the milk hadn’t been sucked up and I could smell a terrible burning plastic smell coming from inside the machine. I was fed up after that, took it back, and replaced it with a Creatista. Very happy now.

Im quite a big fan of the lattissimia pro. I have 2, one at home and one at work. They're also really cheap if you can pick them up secondhand. I like that you can adjust the foam density and the coffee shot is heated up to a good temperature. I used to have a citiz and I swear the coffee always tasted bitter and terrible no matter which pod I used. I'm intrigued by the creationista machine!

I like the Creatista Pro, but I would love for Nespresso to come out with an upgraded all-metal prosumer version (preferably with an E61 style group head). I miss the solid metal cover for the drip tray from the Lattissima Pro. The Creatista Pro has this thin cheap stamped metal cover that would actually buckle on the Creatista Plus, so they had to put in a plastic brace. The capsule tray is so plastic as well and it doesn't drain into the drip tray like the one on the Lattissima Pro does. The milk wand is wonderful though, so much better than the artificial hard foam produced by the Lattissima.

It is a lot of money but I'm guessing you got the machine for £1 on that deal so if you spend that on coffee anyway and the machine comes with a 2 year warranty then it could be a good option. No problem, been meaning to compare the two machines for a while, so was glad for the prompt and hope it helped. We much prefer the taste from the Creatista as find the coffee mixes better with the milk and is a lot silkier as a result. Hi Vish, we actually stopped cleaning it the way we were going to share but you could try pouring the milk out (and then wiping the wand) while holding the wand up and then placing the milk jug back under for it to purge into the jug if that makes sense. Not great for latte art as you’ll need two hands for that but for a standard latte or cappuccino it could work well.

The Lattissima machines have one massive Achilles heel and that is temperature of the coffee in particular milk based drinks. I’ve had a lattissima+ and a Lattissima touch and both had the same issue which was like warm milk based drinks. I initially sent my lattissima+ back to Nespresso for a check under warranty and came back as “within manufacture specifications” even though the mills drinks were less that 60c when checked with a thermometer. Nespresso said that the milk is “conditioned” to heat up to 65c but even “within manufacture specifications” my milk based coffees were all about 10c lower than 65c and for me was intolerable. I bought a lattissima touch (supposedly slightly updated version of the lattissima+) and that was no better (milk based coffee at 57c-58c max) so it was returned for a refund and I bought a delonghi Bean to cup machine with an auto frother latte system. The bean To cup machine does a much better with temperature especially with milk based drinks as now with the bean to cup machine I’m getting 72c from the first milk based coffee up to 78c after the first one, 23c hotter than the lattissima+ and 20c hotter than the lattissima touch !! The bean to cup machine with auto frother latte system is a big pain to clean but also maintenance needs to be done every week to 10 days to clean the brew group where the pod machines are much easier to clean and maintain so I personally would love to move back to a pod machine. The reason I’m reluctant to do so is down to the temperature issues I had with my lattissima machines as luke warm coffee is not nice. Watching this and all the videos about the creatista (uno, plus and pro) one thing I can say is they make a more authentic “coffee shop” looking coffee (the end result in this video looks stunning). But I’m very apprehensive of moving back to a Nespresso and having like warm coffee even if it does look great. I don’t think it will be case but my conversation with Nespresso over my lattissima+ does ring some alarm bells as it seems all the Nespresso machines are conditioned to serve espresso no higher 78c and milk no higher than 65c (more like 50c-55c on a lattissima machine) and it seems to be a Nespresso requirement, Where bean to cup machines the temperatures are set by the manufacturer and can be quite a bit hotter. Thanks for the great comparison and it’s almost convinced me to move back to a Nespresso, even if it will be with a creatista machine and be quite expensive. Joff 👍👍☕️☕️
@A2BProductions
@A2BProductions 3 жыл бұрын
Cheers Joff, I remember you mentioning this in the past. I actually bought a Bean to Cup machine a month or two back to try it out and while the coffee tasted very fresh - at least when I managed to get the espresso right 😅 - I found myself just heading for the Creatista most of the time still as it's just so quick and simple and the pods I like from the Nespresso range really are nice. While I was intriuged at the chance of trying any coffee I wanted to, simplicity won out at in the end. Maybe in future if I have a bit more time on my hands I'll give a bean to cup machine a go again but happy with the Creatista for now and like you, I like my milk based coffee hot. Hope a promo offer comes up that works for you.
@joffhall81
@joffhall81 3 жыл бұрын
@@A2BProductions I totally agree. My bean to cup machine makes a great coffee but it’s very time consuming to get right especially if you like trying different coffee types. You need to dial in the grind for each coffee which if you are buying in 200g bags can mean quite a bit of waste. Then there is the cleaning and maintenance, the brewing group needs to be steeped in hot water once a week, the milk carafe needs to be cleaned every couple of days (my mistake should of got a steam wand version instead), and the dregs drawer needs emptying and cleaning every day as well as the drip trays. When I was using my Lattissima plus sure the Milk carafe needed cleaning every couple of days but the rest of the maintenance was pretty easy as there is no brew group to clean and the used pod drawer could go 3 days without a clean (emptied daily) and no wastage when wanting to try different coffee, just pop the pod in and away you go. My Lattissima plus is what genuinely got me interested in coffee and like with all things you think you are “upgrading” to get better coffee when you move to a bean to cup but it’s a double edged sword. Yes there is possibly better coffee available in bean form than in Nespresso but the cost of these specialty coffees and the extra processes to get this coffee to drinkable espresso is time consuming and expensive. Nespresso on the other hand have really good coffee, tons of variety and it’s all really convenient with machines that are easy to use. In hindsight is a great thing and if I’d of known all the extra complications with the bean to cup route I probably would of went with another Nespresso and a separate milk frother (the Creatista wasn’t an option at the time). I think my experience with Luke warm milk drinks on the lattissima plus and the fact Nespresso was saying it wasn’t a faulty and was “within manufacture specifications” were the main reason for the move to a bean to cup. I was quite irritated that I’d paid a lot of Money for a machine that made like warm coffee and I felt was essentially faulty. Now I would say to anyone wanting to jump from a Nespresso to a bean to cup to hold off and look at getting a better Nespresso (something from the Creatista range) as they will make just a good coffee as a bean to cup but in a far more convenient package and with just as much control. I still think Nespresso should have a serious review of the Lattissima range and either sort out the temperature issue of the milk drinks with delonghi or discontinue the range entirely and possibly offer a “trade in” program for people with these machines that suffered “luke warm” coffee. There is no way a 10-20c (in some cases over 20c difference) in serving temperature between the lattissima and Creatista ranges should be considered acceptable by Nespresso. It’s not as if it’s even delonghi issue as my delonghi bean to cup machine (based on the same auto dispense system) with auto latte system can serve a milk based drink at 75c-82c with milk coming out at 68-70c even on the first cup with with milk from the fridge. I do know though my next coffee machine will definitely be a Nespresso machine from the Creatista range as good coffee with convenience and options are by far the most important factor to me after my bean to cup experience. Hopefully my experience will help others who are thinking the grass is greener with a bean to cup machine when it actually may not be, but selecting the right Nespresso machine for your needs is just as important. Take care and keep up the awesome Nespresso videos. Joff 👍👍☕️☕️

Thanks so much for sharing your experience in such depth Joff and it really does mirror my own experience with the machines you've mentioned, the only difference being the Breville Barista Express bean to cup machine - Sage over here - I tried had a steam wand, though it was tiny and a nightmare to get used to 😅. I didn't want to go for the lattissima style frother on a bean to cup as the experience I had from the Nespresso range wasn't great, but good for others to know that's not necessarily the case with the bean to cup frothers. Thanks again and you take care too 👍

Coffee is personal, of course... so, for me, when you put the two cappuccinos side by side, the Latissima is the more appealing looking one. With its clear separation of the espresso milk blend on the bottom, and the brilliant milk foam floating on top. The creatista just looks like a spun coffee, id doesn't look like there is any froth on top. When I think of true cappuccino, I want to see that white milk foam floating on the top, and sip through it. (I've had a more basic latissima for years, and can vouch it makes a fantastic cappuccino). I would love to try the Creatista though, as looks aren't anything.... but simply by looks, I'm taking the Latissima's cappuccino ever time (as he said, you can adjust the default coffee to milk ration if you want it to fill the cup). Thank you for the comparison!

Yeah it is all down to personal taste isn't it, guess that's why there's such a variety of machines to choose from. Definitely be great to hear your thoughts if you do get to try the Creatista and thanks for sharing 👍

Hi, i was literally looking everywhere for this comparison as i'm not sure which mashine to buy. i just have a question about the creatista: if i want to make Cappuccino, can i froth the milk at first before making the espresso/coffee? I have seen everywhere that with the creatista, the milks gets ready AFTER the espresso shot is already in the cup. So you end up getting coffee flat white.

Yeah the servings can start to slip around a bit over time can't they. The only machine I've had long term experience with is the Citiz which lasted me a good 5 years before I sold it on to get a new colour. If you've been happy with your Lattissima then maybe a Lattissima One might work for you if you don't drink many milk based coffees. One thing I will say about the Creatista Plus I had is that it brewed a hot espresso, probably the hottest I've had from the Nespresso machines I've tried including the Pro (especially when you run a shot of water through first to heat the mechanism up)
