Creative Meditation is inspired by the freedom of nature and the tranquility of being outdoors. This unaccompanied flute solo is all about freedom, including freedom meter, key and tempo. The work also utilizes many contemporary techniques, such as wind tones to recreate the effect of a breeze softly blowing across a flute embouchure hole. The piece develops in such a way to mirror the way our own mind develops and grows upon ideas, especially in moments of meditation.”
