What an excellent talk! Loved it. Very inspirational. It just takes a little imagination to make massive changes. If only people would get out of their own way and stop thinking of themselves perhaps this would happen again. Massive shifts happen when we ask ourselves, “how can I serve?“

Oh, a little imagination won't do it! The fertile ground that existed 200 yrs ago does not exist today...at least, not in the West. If it exists elsewhere the seeds have yet to germinate. The 'high minds' did not exist in a vacuum! They were born of an elite. Today, our 'elite is utterly corrupt. When great minds speak today they are ignored or silenced. The people, too are different. Infinitely richer and infinitely more comfortable....and demanding.

It's the only way, but it's so out of style in these days of self-obsession, that we've a long road back. When we encourage our kids to believe they are the center of the universe, how can a culture of service survive?

@@barrykochverts4149 It's certainly a challenge. But it helps to have voices like this out there in the world for people to encounter. Children who were raised by helicopter parents will someday become adults living in a larger world, where their parents voices are not the only ones they encounter. When they are struggling as adults and looking for answers, there is a chance that they can find truth-speakers who are sharing real solutions. At that point, it will be up to them to determine when they are ready to take a higher road.

@markysgeeklab878311 ай бұрын
I don't think humans have changed much over the last 1000 years. They almost always wanted to return to the good old days, complained about the behavior of the youth and almost always blamed someone else (e.g complaining about mothers who are not responsible enough rather than helping children). You are responsible for your own actions, including the choice to blame someone for their negative impact on innocent "victims" rather than help the victims.

He inspired those there and issued the challenge to dream and implement, and he inspired me as well. If we all make the choice to commit ourselves, no matter who we are or how little we think we have to contribute, and use just "a little imagination", we can effect change because we'll be doing it together, each one using their God given talents. ❤ Brilliant

Interesting point. For me, Jordan Peterson is one of these "creative minorities", or individuals who inspire change and can encourage everyone to strive for a better way of life. There are others of course, and I hope to learn more about the other folks participating in this conference. For myself and a few close friends & family, Peterson's inspiring ideas and his own example have had a large impact on giving us hope for the future and setting a goalpost in the future. That helps people by seeing that there is a way out of the cultural decline. This is the direction that everyone can move in if we want to participate in the process of cultural improvement.

Superb talk by David Stroud, very impressive indeed. We really do have to fight to save western civilisation. Today's middle class are also complacent too. In my town in north east England, it is the highly skilled working classes who are watching alternative media, informing themselves of what is going on in the world and are trying to preserve the best of what we have. The middle classes seem far more complacent, seemingly content with their one or two foreign holidays per annum, unwilling to debate issues, fed on a diet of biased media coverage of the issues by the BBC and others. It is the skilled members of the working class who seem to have some common sense left, they give me hope, where the armies of middle class woke 20-,30-, 40- and 50 somethings give me cause for concern. The institutions have to be taken back from the left, who have controlled them all since the 1960s and continue to control academia, educational policy, healthcare policy, immigration policy.

This is a good summary - snapshot of the cultural landscape. You used the Term ‘Armys’ of middle classes 20s 30s - 50s etc. I don’t think you meant anything by that but it does reflect undertones observable in the West. IE; That If Balance and Structure is not upheld then Tribal Tensions could Destroy Europe. That Type of Tension and Apprehension is very Palpable it’s in the Either. In my opinion this is a Spiritual Negotiation first and then an Educational Negotiation. Universally / Spiritually, People and Countries of Europe need to know what they believe in and what Narrative unites them. _ That’s Task No. 1 __________________________ What Happens After that . . ? Will depend on the Answer given for _ Task No 1 . . ? 😉 THE SCORE LINE READS - Engl 0 - Euro 99 But it’s ‘next Goal Wins’ 🥅 👟 ⚽️ HAHhhaaaa. . . . Mr Stroud seems Cheerfully Optimistic that People are Smart enough and Capable enough to ‘ Rid it Up ‘ - Steady the ship ? 🤔

Very enlightening topic. Mr. J John Bennet would call such minority The Mogh. or The Maggies. Those who were the saviours of Persian civilization against Islamic attacks 14 centuries ago. As a result of their efforts, the Persian language along with many of its iconic elements have been preserved till today. Iran is the only nation that has not adapted Arabic language as their own. The Persian language had been affected by Arabs, but never willingly or fully accepted. So was the other aspects of their culture. That’s why even today, despite a high Muslim population in Iran, there are great characteristics differences between them and the rest of Muslim world. There has always been some minorities within that great civilization that had defended its ancestral heritage and their ways of life. I hope some minor elites of western culture wake up to the dangers that is threatening western ways of life and save its libertarian based cultural buildings.

Do-gooders with power are ofcourse important for development, but the speaker neglects other forces that also contribute. The almost revolution he mentions in the begining triggered action from those with power. Without that atempt on revolt, things would not have happened. Those in power (the socalled do-gooders) acted of fear of revolution and when the smell got too bad. They had neglected the cry from the poor for a ling time. The first thing do-ggoders should do today is to invite those who protests to dialog, find what they need, and cooperate with them to find common solutions.

@@roflstomplolmao You’re fighting institutional control of universities, elementary and secondary education emanating from the Ivy League universities down. In the case of the UK, Oxford and Cambridge. You’re fighting institutional control of news media in print, television and online sources that proliferate the ideas taught in the education sector, because that’s where the journalists were trained. You’re fighting popular culture in the entertainment industry from everything produced by legacy free-to-air TV, to Disney, Apple, Netflix and TikTok. These are all the tools essential to the saturation and unchallenged dominance of the culture. It’s 24/7 365. Unless genuine conservative multi billionaires start coming out of the woodwork to fund the start up of substantial institutions to rival and supplant the legacy institutions they will continue to hold their unchallenged monopoly on the global narrative they promulgate. The Daily Wire Plus with Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson are likely to for ever remain echo chamber bubbles. A viable counterculture requires mobilisation of scientists who don’t subscribe to the conformist narrative for the sake of keeping their jobs, while also weeding out the crackpots. It will require real journalists in the same spirit, not Tommy Robinson and Avi Yemeni. It will require real scholars in every field, medical, educational, the arts to fill the counter institutions. That is: institutions that stand for the things the legacy institutions used to stand for until let’s say the 1980s.
