Secan y son estables, pero si deseas añadirle efectos de envejecido, se recomienda una capa de barniz brillante encima.

Many of chameleon paints need a glossy black primer. Quite often a gloss primer is advised underneath a metallic. Why is a matt black primer the advised method ? Just primed a big model in gloss black as undercoat for a paint job with one of these gold pigments. Should I add some matt primer or is it not that big of a deal ?
@greenstuffworld3 жыл бұрын
For some types of pigments, a matt primer is recommended, so that the pigments adhere much better.
@photoshopafficionado3 жыл бұрын
@@greenstuffworldOK. So it is more about adherence. Would you advise a coat of matte varnish or matt primer if a piece is already covered with gloss primer ?

The results are really stunning, congrats for this new product! I was wondering: are you planning to release them (along the glow pigments) as pre-mixed paints? I reaaaly want to use them but I'm scared of messing up the medium/pigment ratio and cloggingup my airbrush.

They will be launched in this format only, because it is the most versatile for different uses.

I have some of the antique gold pigment powder and it gives a great shine . After leaving it to dry i tried to apply agrax earthshade but noticed that the paint was being rubbed off . Im assuming thats not meant to happen ?

Hey could you ask one of your pro painter friends to paint up a custodes with those Gold colours? i would do it lol, but i can't get them in germany. And i really want to see how a custodes looks like in this gold colour. plus, how shading works with so intense colours.

can i made a full bottle with gold metal pigments and master medium (17ml) with agiator balls for better storage/usage or is it a must to mix it only before painting?

You can add our steel agitator balls to all your paint bottles.

This looks like a very interesting new product. Question: should the painted surface be sealed with a varnish once dry or can it withstand being handled?
@greenstuffworld4 жыл бұрын
If you want effects such as washing, weathering and so on...we recommend using gloss varnish on top. If you only want the metallic effect, it is not necessary.

So them being made from metal, do they rust or corrode in any way? Also is it possible to just wash, glaze and paint over them normally?
@greenstuffworld3 жыл бұрын
Yes, they can rust like any metal. Once varnished, you can apply any effect you wish.

I mixed it with master medium, when I painted there is no problem. But after the paint dries, the pigment seems separated and it looks bad. What did I do wrong? Also when I left the mixed paint there, the pigment also start separating very quickly.

You may have used too much master medium. You should use as little as possible.

looks awesome but, what is the practical benefit of these over a metallic paint?
@greenstuffworld4 жыл бұрын
They can be mixed with paint, acrylic and non-acrylic media, resins, varnishes, etc... and the quality of the gloss is perfect.
@UnvarnishedTarnished4 жыл бұрын
You'll generally get a smoother result with these. These are just metallic mica pigments. Other companies make these as well and they just work differently. I'd recommend picking up a few to try em out.

What do you mean that they are made of real metals? Is for example gold pigment made of real gold?
@greenstuffworld4 жыл бұрын
It is not real gold, but it is real metal. ;)
@Mithlinthar4 жыл бұрын
Okay, these pigments are made of the real metal. You put a wet brush (soaked in an acrylic medium which probably contains water) in the bottle. Isn't that a quick way to corrode this pigment?
@greenstuffworld4 жыл бұрын
So far, none of the evidence we have from months ago has had any rust. When you use a medium you "encapsulate" the metal particles, preventing corrosion. Although you can use an oxide accelerator, if you want to imitate rust.
