Found a random reddit post that walked through a simple procedure to basically start fresh, and it worked. I'm using some decent over ear headphones, but which ones do you freaking love combined with the G6 SB?

You don't need a splitter since the headset input process both mic and audio, the mic input is for recording or chat or pc headset with already a splitter.

Does the EQ software work on consoles if you can save the presents?

I don't play on console these days, but I just tested if the Sound Blasterx G6 buttons work to enable the sound profile without the Sound Blaster Command software running and they worked and applied my preset. So that suggests that it does save them to the device itself and should work on consoles after you've configured it on your PC.

Is there any way to disable/turn off the white glowing Volume Ring of light and Red glowing X on top, when using it for PS5 & Nintendo Switch?

The X, yes you can turn that off in Sound Blaster Command software. The ring light around the volume knob, you cannot though.

@@NintenPizza The settings you apply to the Sound BlasterX G6 using Sound Blaster Command software are saved on the G6 itself. So when you use it elsewhere it uses that last settings you saved. I don't personally use the G6 on console, but that should work.

I'd still go with the G6. The X3 does have SFX and Chatmix, but the G6 has the x-amp and higher bit rate. The Fulla does look nice, but I'd probably do the Schiit Stack(modi + magni), but that would only be for music and movies, the G6 has more features and options for a mix of music, movies and games.

@@OllieBeanz Thanks for the reply. My G6 should be here today. I have order drop HD58X but will be 3 or 4 weeks before they even ship. I am very excited. I guess I will try the Logitech G Pro X on the G6 until my HD58X come. I mostly game but have been researching the Schiit stack as well. Pretty sure the G6 will fit my needs but might end up getting the Schiit stack at some point to be able to dip my toes in. Thanks again for the reply.

I've never used the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, but it's essentially a preamp. So I'm guessing it could work with some adapters, since both the Scarlett and the Sound BlasterX G6 use different inputs and outputs. I suggest contacting both companies support to confirm. I love listening to music and movies with the Soundblasterx G6 paired with my Fidelio X2HR cans. There may be better dac/amps like tube amps for music, but the G6 really brings my headphones to life.

Disappointing I use my PC to play games, listen to music, podcasts, watch movies. So this lil' thingy looked like perfect match. Was especially looking to the music since my integrated sound card struggles to feed my 250 ohm DT 770 (bought together). Right from the first moment I felt something's off. Couldn't really pinpoint anything specific, just...didn't enjoy the music as much as I normally do. The effect is subtle, but it's there...a tiny bit of everything. Sounds just a tad flat. And a little bit sharp/harsh at the same time. Not as clean either...can no longer easily pick out any individual sound/instrument. Stuff blurs together a bit. Tried both fiddling with the settings and putting it into direct mode. Direct sounds significantly better, but still worse than just simply plugging the headphones into the integrated jack (despite that one struggling with all them ohms). And quite a bit worse than my first gen FiiO X1 which I've had for like 8 years Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Gonna try fiddling with it some more, but unless the sound gets a lot cleaner, I'll be returning it and probably just getting an amp for the PC since the integrated card/DAC is doing a pretty good job with the sound, just needs a bit more juice That all being said, it doesn't sound bad. As in bad bad. When I asked my bf if he's noticing any flatness, or harshness to it, he pretty much bluescreened with a face of bliss. He's used to the normal "mainstream" kinda decent-ish over-ear headphones. So if that's your case as well, chances are won't notice any issues

The Sound Blasterx G6 doesn't fully power off. Leaving it on and plugged in causes no harm.

Creative Labs are good sound cards, but their drivers could be better, especially installing them. I always had issues with the drivers and getting their devices to work properly. It became even worse with Windows 10 and the 20H2 update where they changed the way drivers work.

So the sennheiser hd 4.40 bt are only 18 ohms, so you don't need much power to use them so as far as the AMP part of the Sound Blasterx G6 you probably won't see much difference. Now the alc 1220 only goes up to 24bit/19KHz while the Sound Blasterx G6 goes up to 32/384KHz for bit depth and sample rate respectively. If you are listening to music/movies or playing games that support the higher bit depth and sample rate you'll notice a difference with the Sound Blasterx G6. The G6 also comes with more features in the included Sound Blaster Command software than the ALC 12220 like surround sound, scout mode(which is fantastic in the games it works well in), mixer, voice mod and more.

I would personally just keep the Sound Blasterx G6. It has a higher bit rate and pretty much the same feature set. Unless you need some of the new features on the X4.

If your audio source(netflix/phone) supports 5.1 than you MIGHT be able to set up 5.1 with the G6 plugged into a computer and have it save the set up and then use 5.1 on your phone. I have never tried it though. Yes this is a good DAC/AMP for hifi music, this is one of the only DAC/AMP combos that can handle up to 32bit/384kHz at this price point. Yes, it can handle 250 ohm headphones.

Yes you can. Just use USB for PC and optical for console. Then volume knob will control the PC and you can adjust console volume through creative software.

You can run the outs on the Sound Blasterx G6 to a speaker system. That system will need it's own amplifier since the G6 doesn't have enough wattage for speakers.

@@panayotisbikas9331 I don't think you'll see much improvement adding the G6 in your specific scenario. The Sound Blasterx G6 is primarily a headphone amp and will not add more power to your speaker system. You would get the benefit of the higher bit rate and effects though.

The G5 is a good DAC/AMP, but the Sound Blasterx G6 is definitely better. The G6 adds Dolby support, has a higher dB DNR (cleaner sound), has a bi-amp(so one side doesn't get starved of power), it also has more power and supports side tone which let's you listen to your mic.

The Sound Blasterx G6 is better than the E10k in almost every way. The E10k only supports impedance up to 150ohms while the G6 supports up to 600ohms. The E10k only supports up to 96khz sample rate while the G6 supports up to 384khz. The G6 also has many more features with the Sound Blaster Command Software.

The Sound Blasterx G6 can handle up to 600ohms, IIRC the DT990 Pros are only 250ohms., so either DAC/AMP can push those cans. The Schiit Hel does have more power than the G6, but it lacks some of the features. IMHO the G6 also has a better DAC.

@@Cluelessseafishing Prefect audio is subjective and I don't have the 990s. So you'll just have to keep tweaking till you get it just how you want it. The scout mode works great in Tarkov btw.
