here's several tips on techniques to de clutter fast Allow yourself 5 minutes every day to tidy up Give away one item every day Fill up a trash bag today! Make a list of what to do this week. Get four sacks and sort everything into trash, give away, keep, or relocate. (I discovered these and why they work from Nilah declutter tips website )

Nicki that's why your so Blessed you give... You just encouraged me to pass things on instead of keeping things out of obligation... It doesn't mean I don't appreciate what's given just know someone would enjoy or need it more than myself... Give and it shall be given to you, pressed down shaken together and running over... Thank for the wonderful video...

Great tips Nikki. I COMPLETELY agree with your closing thoughts about not holding on to things because someone gave them to you. Not everyone feels that way, unfortunately there are gift givers who get deeply offended if you pass on something they give you. Love your channel.

I loved it when you said if you receive something but don’t want to keep it, you let it go to make sure it gets into the right hands. This is a great tip and makes me feel much better about getting rid of stuff. And even better if I can make money doing it, to reinvest into my home too!

Great video Nikki, thank you! Another way I think would be a great way to bless someone else's home would be to gather all the things you'd like to donate and invite friends and family with their gently used decor over as a swap! And then if you have items left over, you could always donate them. 😊

I love what you said about releasing obligation because while a lot of people like to give things to their friends and family, it's the relationship and thought that counts more than the object itself. :)

Ms. Nikki, I hope to move to Florida to be closer to my family in abt a year. I'm slowly decluttering a few things a week. You must be able to read minds bc what you are saying is my new mantra...."Be real wth myself"....I've been letting go of many beloved possessions but I haven't worn or used these items in years. Saying goodbye to a few pieces a week is so much easier and less overwheming. I love your videos!! Keep'em coming!

That is a huge key in my opinion. I read this somewhere when I was much younger. My mom would always keep things people gave her, even if they didn't go with our home. She had cabinets full of stuff. She felt bad about letting it go, and would get sentimental about it. I would keep things too, and end up not liking my space because of the items I had that weren't my style. When I read that, I immediately let go the things that I didn't like. At Christmas, I have a box. I ask friends and family if they are in need of the item. If they are not, it goes to Goodwill.

You are amazing Nikki! I love your videos. I watched them all day yesterday, as I have been falling down on my organizing. They really inspired me. I now have a totally neat and clean pantry. You have such a soothing voice too, and you are such an adult. I get the need for people to be able to use Dollar Tree items for organizing, but I love how grown up everything in your house is--and not too expensive. I was inspired to save money and get matching baskets throughout my house for organizing. I found a huge basket line at Hobby Lobby, and when it's 50% off, most everything is $2-8. Every time I do a project, I get baskets from that line. It makes it so that if something doesn't work, or I want to change things around, I can use the baskets anywhere in my home. They have lots of baskets with lids in the line I use too. I rarely have to buy any baskets anymore. I just shuffle them around to hone my system. I do have to say this. Have you thought of putting boxes in your boxes, so when you open the boxes, you don't have to see clutter? Lol. Just kidding! I love your ideas, and you help me make my home look wonderful.

Thanks for your storage videos Nikki. Your space is beautiful and meticulous. I know it's your woman cave but they are great ideas for anyone who crafts. I'm an art major in college and am taking sewing classes on the side to pursue a career in fashion. So I'm working on organizing my space at home. And I agree with you on not using open shelves. For me, everything out is over stimulating for my adhd and too busy. I prefer clean lines and more minimalist. So I do use the open bookshelves from Ikea, but I use storage bins, boxes and doors to keep my stuff hidden and clean looking.

I know this is an older vid but was (re) watching it & wanted to share a tip... Whenever you have candles used in a decorative way (like the candelabras on the mantle) even if they are brand new you should always LIGHT the wicks for just a few seconds. It really makes them look more practical and cohesive with the space as opposed to having fresh white waxy wicks. It looks like they actually get USED even though us women know some candles are truly just decorative! My mom gave me this tip & I love it.

Dear Nikki , I just discovered your channel yesterday and I LOVE IT ! I've subscribed because your just awsome ! I love the way you think and the system you use to keep your home feel harmonious and stress free because an over accumulation of stuff can be stressful enough, I know that well because I feel so bad and sad throwing away stuff that I love but as a result I have two rooms over packed with stuff I'm attached to it because of a memory or sentimental value not because I really need that item. The system you use and the way you think makes one live a better lifestyle and I'm going to adopt that attitude and start purging, declutter and organising every single drawer or cupboard in the house . Very well done and keep it up to continue inspire other people . Lots of love from Malta, Europe xxxx
