Curious where the heart came from? Using keyboard commands without noting keys used makes it difficult to follow but thanks did help some.

I just drew the heart as a vector object. It can be any shape. On my more recent videos I've been explaining the individual steps better.

This a great tutorial, but for a beginner like me, you should be much more specific when you execute each step, like for instance: at 4:44 I was not sure how exactly you colored the vignette and the heart shape - I had to figure it out by myself. Then, at 5:12, you crop the image, but how? You don't specify which commands you used for that. I just see you do it on the screen; therefore, I could only get to that exact point and don't know to proceed. Please, could you explain to me how you crop the image? Thanks!

Hi, you are right, I should have mentioned that with a monochrome bitmap (Corel calls it "black and white" but it can be any two colors,) the background color is designated with a left mouse click on the pallet and the object color with a right click. The cropping is done with the shape tool (2nd from the top on the toolbar on the left side of the screen.) When you select the bitmap with the shape tool, the four corner nodes will appear and you can use your mouse to move them where you like. You can also add and delete nodes to the perimeter of the bitmap if you need more accurate cropping. To delete a node, select it and hit the delete key. To add a node, double click the border where you want the new node to be. - Neil

Apparently the coreldraw program that I am using is not the full package which significantly limits tool selection. Is there a roundabout way of doing it instead of using the very awesome vignette tool?

I don't use the vignette tool - This video shows two alternatives.
