Another branch of our family had a tradition of opening one present on Christmas Eve. This video was my Christmas Eve present. I tend to like low key photos and your examples were delightful. I also like high key photos and your examples were delightful. I too have a lot of blurry shots, but few of them were intentional, so you would rightfully disqualify them. Some people might spend years at a community college to earn a certificate, or they could watch this video, spend the money in Southern Africa, and become famous. When I was that young, I wish I was that wise. Merry Christmas, and thanks for your gift.

I have a Nikon D850, I seem to have problems keeping my shutter speed fast in Aperture mode Auto iso. If I set a high shutter speed just can't keep it. and I am shooting on a High School Football Field. Example 1/1000 sec, f2.8 minimum shutter 1/1000 auto iso...Appreciate any help from you awesome folks. I love your site I am age 84, if younger & in good Health I would love to make a trip. Thanks for these Video's so old men like me can dream & enjoy.

Great to have all of these tips in one video. I've watched allot of you're videos and talks and now it's in a nice bite size. 👍( Maybe a video that goes a little more in to detail of the postprocessing would be a big help, ) some photos that i thought I ruined but under / over exposing in the past i can now bring to life. Thanks again for sharing all of the inspiring images.

Very well done. I read somewhere that for panning you have to match the shutter speed with the speed of the moving subject ie if the subject is moving 20 miles an hour you can use a shutter speed of 1/20. Not sure how accurate the statement is though.
@thomastuorto99293 жыл бұрын
Great tips. It will take some practice for me to get a decent photo ( if ever) panning at some of those shutter speeds you mention. Nice vid.

I love your motion blur image of the Carmine Bee-eater! Fantastic! Are your images available for purchase somewhere?
@PangolinWildlife3 жыл бұрын
Hello Hugh. I must say it probably is my favorite motion blur so far as these birds are super fast and difficult to capture. I do sell images on request and you can view them on my social media accounts (facebook.com/sabine.pangolinphoto or instagram.com/sabine_stols). If you are interested email me at sabine@pangolinphoto.com and we can set a price ;) -Sabine

Wonderful tips in a jiffy but I also want to know the minimal equipment required for wildlife of the kind presented here!! The pushing and pulling through the Zoom range requires a lot of practice and I want to know if the technique is possible with screw zooms.
@PangolinWildlife3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback and questions. The push and pull method works great on a 100-400mm zoom lens and both ring zoom and pull zooms work for it ;)
@B-best0558 Жыл бұрын
hello Sabina. Can i use your video for my online class?
@davegordon98143 жыл бұрын
Unless you are very lucky, all high shutter speed animal and bird shots have been done before and probably not anything unusual. Using these techniques will (when we get it right) will result in unique images that will be attributed to the photographer's skills and style.
@PangolinWildlife3 жыл бұрын
Exactly! Thank you Dave for pointing it out again ;) -Sabine
@sanoopvnair20553 жыл бұрын
can i do it(lowkey and highkey) with a cropsensor camera(1500d)?
@PangolinWildlife3 жыл бұрын
Of course! You just need to be careful when strongly overexposing (high key) as the ISO usually increases a lot. Keep the aperture then wide open and reduce the shutter speed as much as possible to keep the ISO and therefore image noise in check ;) Hope this makes sense! -Sabine
