It hurts a lot! If we would want a sequel as Call me by your name and pretend Jack never died. There’s no choice to make it without Heath Ledger because he’s gone as the character of Jack 😫😩. So this movie just died in the story and in real life 😩😫😖😭

I have pictured ennis telling jack he wants to finally be with him after jack tells him sometimes he misses him so much he can hardly stand it. If only…Sigh…
@thatgirlreacts54653 жыл бұрын
@@carsh5218 I think jacks death is very important to the story because the way I see it, it’s the only way Ennis figures out what they had together was love. And so even if Heath was alive, if only, that’s a terrible loss, this movie couldn’t and shouldn’t have a sequel. So it can stay the masterpiece that it is.

The purest love story I've ever had the privilege to watch. Ang's ability to say so much with so little is amazing. On the surface one may think that Jack was the character driving this incredible love but peel back the layer and it is Ennis who needed and kept it going in the most still, reserved way. The scene where he was sitting impatiently for hours waiting for Jack to show up after 4 years and the raw sexual energy he unleashed against the wall under the stairs caught out by Alma. The whole dynamic of their love turned after that even though it appeared he was more reticent. No doubt that Jack loved him but Ennis came to life at every meeting which I think sustained him through the years where he merely just existed. Sometimes I wish they made the movie again where this time they relented and lived out their dream together. What I wouldn't give to see that.

I am sorry but I just saw cheating. By delaying the inevitable, he really hurt not just himself but his relationship with Jack and to me what’s most important: Alma and his kids.
@thatgirlreacts54653 жыл бұрын
@@acdragonrider why are alma and the kids most important? Just cuz he got married? So what? Divorce is a thing. It’s a thing in the movie, in fact.
@regaugetswemoabelo8593 жыл бұрын
@@thatgirlreacts5465 marrying to get divorced seems counterintuitive. Though in Ennis case I'm not mad about it. He is such an innocent man who really did move on with his life. I don't think he was ever gay just ended up loving Jack, who was the gay one. But like he said, once Brokeback Mountain(Jack) got him, it was hard to get loose.
@thatgirlreacts54653 жыл бұрын
@@regaugetswemoabelo859 lol there is nothing to be mad about in terms of divorce. And no one said “marrying to get divorced”. I said divorce exists and is a valid option if the marriage is no longer pleasant. And idk why you brought up sexuality let alone why you think you can decide if for the characters when they haven’t decided it for themselves.

I remember the first time I saw this, was actually the first time I had ever seen Heath Ledger act, and I was floored! I think he was 25 or 26 and I'm thinking: He will not win the Oscar because of his age, but he was far and away the best actor that year. Shame that both he and Phillip Seymour Hoffman are gone. Liked Hoffman in Capote, actually Liked Toby Jones better in the role, but Hedger was a revelation in Brokeback Mountain, and it's a whole lot harder to do what Heath did in this film, as the performance was not really showy, but nuanced for the most part, but I never felt like I was watching an actor when watching Innis, that's how damned good he was in that performance. His best work by far.

If you're going to make these kinds of low-hanging-fruit jokes, be accurate. It's the japanese who cant usually say "l", they say "r". It's the chinese or taiwanese who usually cant pronounce "r". Ang Lee is taiwanese.
@green_lavender2 жыл бұрын
I can’t understand these “make fun of other people’s name” kind of joke. Where is the cultural sensitivity and understanding? Also don’t except Ang Lee to laugh to this Stan Lee joke, because Ang’s name actually means a lot to him. His father named him “An” 安 because his father’s whole family died in the war and in concentration camps. Ang’s father is the only person that made it out alive to Taiwan. His name “An” 安 is derived from De “An” county, his father’s ancestral home. Simply put, one may not always know the story behind peoples’ name, so stop making fun of it. What a lame joke 😒

@green_lavender2 жыл бұрын
Michelle was interviewed, I believe the original bts is around 20 minutes long. There are different versions, this one focuses mainly on the person who brought it all together, which is Ang Lee. There is another one that focuses on scouting the scenes, and I remember one that focuses on the musics in Brokeback.
