I haven't made any granny squares, other than the traditional, but, think I'm going to try to slip stitches when it comes to that single crochet part, and then a single, then a half double, then a double, when it comes to the stitches after that, just to make sure my sides are very straight and my square is square. Every time I've seen a round center "made square", these things just bow outward [ and I have wondered if it was about the tension of the yarn for the top of the stitch - the loop around the hook and possible slack when beginning the next stitch, or slack making distance of the yarn over the hook and the position of your hook tip when you insert into the space - or if the stitch was simply too long for that place & purpose for anchoring the round into a square space that you're building around it ] and they look like rounded squares, as if they have had too much Christmas ham or whatever holiday meat/meal that corresponds with the seasonal blanket you make. Excellent Lesson by the way, you're great at talking us through things that we don't know. I've always wanted to make a round turn square. I think it's great that granny squares are in fashion now - all the rage, even - although, I AM surprised that I haven't heard that they started calling them "Hip 2 B Squares"! If no one actually has, let it be known, that I was the first!

Beautiful afghan. However I find it very boring to watch how to do the beginner stitches. I much prefer channels that say in the beginning you need to know the following stitches. Your catering to beginners snd boring experienced crochers. I suggest z better balance.

Maybe just skip over the parts you already know. I learned and am still learning to crochet following these tutorials. If you have that big of an issue with them, just buy the patterns or move on to the other channels you prefer. I just want to say thank you Glenda for all you do to teach crocheting. Your patience and step by step tutorials have helped me tremendously.

I am so sorry you feel that way, I show how todo each stitch one time in detail , unless it is a special stitch, due to international crocheters who terms of a stitch maybe different. Example a dc here in the usa in a sc in the uk. I also offer the pdf written pattern for more experienced crocheters.
