I think that Michael’s is expensive on a lot of things, but Loops and Threads Soft Classic is good value. You can get good deals online, and even better if you need at least 12 skeins (bulk pricing). Shipping is free over &49.00. I have been stocking up in anticipation of Joann closing. I don’t think I’ll need anymore yarn for the rest of my life (I’ll be 70 in September)!

The Caron Cotton Painterly cakes in Aqua Zest, Ocean Oasis and Fresh Baked Bread are my favorites. Especially the Aqua Zest, it really catches the eye. They might as well just say 25% off any. BOGO at 50% off is just so crazy.🤷🏼‍♀️ I would go to the manager and show them to get the sale price. I did that at Joann's and got the sale price and I didn't even go for that yarn. It was the colorama halo perfect phasing, I ended up getting 6 cakes for something like $4.99 a cake. Thank you for taking us to Michael's. I haven't been to Michael's for quite a while. Humm, I do like the Funfetti cakes, especially the summer sky blue you showed and maybe the crisp linen color - would like to make a blanket with either using cake, with the kroller stitch - do you think that would look ok? I had purchased a Caron big cake at Michael's 2weeks ago and there was a quality issue with the yarn, when I contacted yarnspirations they told me they didn't carry that specific Caron cake on the website as they make certain Caron cakes strictly for Michael's. They were great though and gave me a credit to use on the website as they said the issue did not meet their quality standards.

The placement of those signs is very intentional. Most people will put the yarn in their cart, and then when they get to the cashier, either not even notice that it's rung up higher or just say f it and pay for it anyways. Only a small percentage will complain and/or tell them to take it off the bill and out of their bag. And fyi, as long as they have the disclaimer on what it covers printed on that sign, they are covered legally and don't have to sell it to you at the sale price I believe. Buyer beware. And always read the small print.

I saw in the smaller print on their sign: Excludes Limited-Time Yarn (so NOT on sale). Buy 1 at regular price, get the second of equal or lesser value 50%. Excludes clearance.

The Yarnspiration website has some Painterly cakes on clearance for 5.49 and discontinued shades for 13.49. Seems like they should all be 5.49 then. However, they are all sold out of course. Pretty colors though! My Michaels seldom has anything new, and our aisles are limited to one fairly long side and half of that on another with some endcaps. Occasionally you will find some separate displays on the odd chance they get something new. Thanks for bringing them to our attention!
