I am an electrician and practical electrical engineering trainer and also know some chemistry. I really advice you to remove this advice/trick because most people are not aware the safety handling life parts. Would you want to be a part in injuring or even the death of people ?! And something else, electrolysis of liquids (usually DC, but...) via metals can develop toxic substances in the liquid ! YOU probably know what to do and what not to do. But I have quite a bit of doubt (in my experience) that most people don't know what they are doing or what is going on. An accident happened in no time.

not a heater...that is electrolysis... the bubbles are hydrogen and oxygen
@tarinaten2053
@tarinaten2053 9 ай бұрын
@@davidjones-vx9ju That's what I thought at first, but notice the time it takes before you start getting bubbles. If it were electrolysis, the bubbles would start as soon as power is applied. Bubbles after almost 2 minutes indicates that the water is indeed boiling, as michaelheurkens4538 said. This is alternating current, so any hydrogen atoms produced will have oxygen atoms to combine with 1/50 second max later, and will re-combine into water. Try electrolyzing with AC and see. (I'd use something like 12VAC though, instead of 220VAC.)
