Parsons is a really good Fashion school that teaches you everything that’s more clothes and design related, those are my two options or i would like to study abroad. just gotta figure out what i’m gonna do money related bc FIT doesn’t do scholarships 😂

Ludmilla Costa Hey! Yess you can apply for work study through your financial aid. There’s sometimes on campus jobs and there’s also the Career and Internship Services that has a website (as well as an office) where you can meet and talk with an advisor that helps you find jobs and internships! I got my job at Michael Kors through a recruiter that went to the school (recruiters go to the school pretty often) So sorry for the late response!

Omg I’m a Freshman In High school and I’ve been looking at this college since 5th grade! Now that I’m in high school as a freshman I want to know Everything as early as possible so I can like start early preparing of If I don’t get in in 3 years to any other colleges because there’s on that’s in my home town Named Cornish College of arts In Seattle Wa, and If I don’t make it into FIT I think Cornish is my 2nd choice because there a big art school that do Fashion Majors as well! Ohhh, so the high school that you attended offers a fashion business class? That's dopee, cuz at my school, they don't offer those kinds of classes. It's all about the basic courses like those three major science classes, human geography, some IT courses, psychology, and maths. And of course eng and economy classes. :\( I'm planning to go to FIT toooo..this is really helpful! :))

My dream is to become a Fashion Buyer and I am 21 years old and I have been going to a university for fashion but to be honest I am not learning what I want to be learning, Would you recommend this school to jump start your career? Also is it really good to have a fashion school on your resume verses a regular college? Plus to be honest I need more style and I feel like that school will jump start me more than where I am at!

I just use the Garnier leave-in conditioner, and make sure I trim my hair often so it stays healthy!

Hi Kiara, thanks for such an informative video! I was wondering if you have met anyone at FIT who already had a bachelors degree but decided to go for a more specialized program? This is something I am considering doing as I already have a BA in Art but would like to study textiles/surface design. I just was not sure how common it was and what my chances are of getting in. Jaysa Even I had no problem getting my credits transferred! Just make sure you keep the description of that or the syllabus so that school can process it and see if it’s equivalent to a class at FIT!

Hey, I really like the video! I'm an incoming freshman (AMC major too!) so seeing an updated look on the school really helps out. I was wondering if you knew anything about the Bakers Scholars program for business students. I read about it so many times but nobody seems to know much about it. emasanchez Hey! Honestly totally up to you! Personally I wanted to do my 4 years at FIT, but I did consider doing 2 years at community college and 2 years at FIT So that I could save up some money. Whatever you feel will work best for you :)

you dont necessarily need volunteer work. when you go to apply in a few years you just need to be able to say why you love fashion and how it will affect your future. ofc try and get involved with the industry asap, whether thats a retail job, starting a blog,vlog, or insta and show how that allows you to be connected with the industry. its all about hyping yourself up. good luck!

Hey love! I'm a graduate of FIT and what I could tell you with the tuition is that it depends on your degree type and if you're in-state, out-of-state, or international. For example, my tuition started off at a lower cost given I started out in my AAS and I lived in-state. But it did increase by a little bit once I entered the upper division level. Also, they cut down your price if you live in the state or even in NYC, but depending on where you live, you might have to present a certficate of residence if in-state. It's a once a year thing that you do and it cuts your bill dramatically. If you're out of state or international, your bill is higher. For FIT, you always start off in an associates program, NEVER a four-year program. It's because students are subject to change; we're all human and we sometimes choose a different path. Some students choose one major to build the skills and knowledge they need for another major they're looking into. It happens a lot. So you start off in associates and once you enter the bachelor's program of the major you choose, then it will increase. Hope this is helpful❤

FIT is a 2+2 school so you apply into your associates degree major and complete that in 2 years and then apply into your bachelors degree major and complete that in 2 years.

jessica yes! I worked at Michael Kors. I’d create my schedule so that I only have classes all day the first 3 days of the week, so that I have the rest of the week free where I can work and do my homework!

It's a 2 by 2 program, so you have to reapply for the bachelor's degree!

I'm a graduate of FIT and what I could tell you is they're definitely a dry campus (no smoking, alcohol, other etc.) and honestly just basic things like to be accepting and kind to one another, be alert and supportive of one another. FIT is definitely a unique college experience in and of its own. It marches to the beat of its own drum. But it's very supportive, helpful, and it really motivates you to be the best version of yourself. I hope this is helpful❤ good luck and have fun!
