I love composition notebooks & they have become helpful with my lapses. I jot a lot of info down in them, so they end up being a note pad but also I found they are a timeline of events as well. I have made a conscience effort to put a date near whatever it is even if it's a doodle while on the phone. I also love when I have a moment when I am behind in my journaling and this has been a few months gap for me, I open my phone and go through my photos with my composition book open. In that moment I am actually journaling because I am creating a list/ timeline/memories to go with the photos in my phone. It feels good because I don't feel pressure but I am enjoying and reliving the experience in the photos. Like you said each moment or photo get maybe a blurb or a two sentence description or it might be a few I see in the phone but I am doing it as a date keeper and not photo number 1 and so and so on. I will be able to go by the date on the photo(s), decide what I want to print and use the info I have already wrote about. I find when we take vacations this works really well, I am just very careful to keep all the bits we collected together so it's all separate and waiting to be placed or used however I choose. These are such great tips you shared!

Thank you so much for sharing your process! So many great tips in this! Composition books can be so freeing! I can definitely see your method working super well for vacations. I will have to try and remember to do that next time I am on one. ❤️

I have always wanted to journal especially mixed media. I have never stated because of the fear of missing days. LOL even though I have never really started this tips have really got my brain moving and considering what I could do if I didn't have these made up rules for myself, and what road blocks can I get rid of. Thank you for sharing.

I am so happy to hear that this video inspired you in this way! Sometimes we are our own worst enemy. I hope you are able to break your own rules and dive in (: The world of journaling is so fun! And there is absolutely no rule on how often you have to do it. ❤️

This year, especially after mum passed away, I found it hard to catch up. I am still a month behind. Now though. the journaling that I have been doing is mostly scrapbook type style. At the start of the month I am working on, I put "Just A Note" then write what type of journal I am doing in order to catch up, just being honest. For September I put, Just A Note. With September, it is a catch up as I didn't journal at all. I am unsure if it will be in order but not always the right date it happened. I don't mind journaling this way but would like to start journaling normally again.
