Real creatives have a strong inner voice that guides their learning process and artistic decisions. They don't allow hustlers and charlatans to pollute their mindset.

One guy ive been listening to much more often is Ari Aster, film director of movies like Midsommar and Hereditary. There are a lot of interviews of him on YT where he not only talks about his films like Q&A's but he often oes into detail about his creatuve process. Im not even any kind of film maker but i find them filled with a lot of good bits of creative advice

I only found this channel recently, but it has had a huge impact on my creative process. A lot of the times when I question myself I now ask why that is, and most of the time I just continue with my experimentation. Your videos on Rick and the importance of individuality have helped me push through some of my most doubtful moments, and I don't believe I would still be having as much fun as I am now without your insights, so I thank you for that!

Like most of the other commentors here I'm super grateful for these videos. They're so inspirational and they're great to turn to in moments of internal turmoil. And best of all they really apply to all creative regardless of creative discipline.

After reading Steal like an artist I ended up reading about Matisse and Willo Perron. They have really inspiration interviews for artists but the book talks about looking to your inspirations' inspirations and developing a tree almost of inspirations. Thank you for giving us all these valuable bits of info

Hey, great to hear. Thanks for bringing my attention to the problems the quick white images were causing. I've done some reading on it to bring my stuff in line. When I use a white for slide backgrounds in the future, I'll switch it to off white not full brightness and make sure it's on screen for more than just a flash. Thanks again for the info, cheers.

Hey, thanks for the interest and glad the work is connecting with you. Book list goes something like: Rick Rubin, 'The Creative Act', Tate: 'Brief Lessons in Rule Breaking' by Frances Ambler, 'Lives of the Artists, Lives of the Architects', 'Faith, hope, and carnage' on Nick Cave, 'The Book of Mac: Remembering Mac Miller', 'Most Dope' Mac Miller, George Saunders: 'A Swim in a Pond in the Rain'

This might be a hot take. But with the exception of a handful, I’ll go ahead and say most modern rappers aren’t the ones to take creative advice from. Most of them all rap about the same shit, follow trends, rely on producers for 90% of their shit and they’re not even really creative performers. Off the top of my head I think rappers like Kendrick, Mac Miller, J.Cole, Em, Tupac are the most immediate rappers who have put out creative albums. If there are more I haven’t heard of or listed so be it. That’s all to say, don’t take creative advice from somebody just because they’re labeled an artist. Take advice from those who are actually creative
