@@rickpanneman3604 a fast spinning chain could hurt you if it got wrapped around your hand or if you touched it maybe. It depends how he's holding jt
@kaijupants9095

@@thedudeamongmengs2051 based on the video here he has very little space between his fingers and the chain. If he went to move the entire contraption even a little it could cause the chain to angle slightly and catch itself or something else causing it to come off the roller. Even if we assume low speed estimates there's a lot of energy in that chain and even without it pinching or wrapping it could do some serious damage. Probably not "lose a finger" serious, but definitely not a good time either.

@William_Kyle-Yuki_Yuuki 27 күн бұрын
@@hdbhehddbz Neither? camera frame rates do play a part in many things like helicopters looking like they are flying with still blades and such but in this case you can see that with the naked eye if you were present. think how when you watch a wheel accelerate you see it spin one direction then when it is sufficiently fast enough it looks like it is starts slowly rotating the other direction before continuing the original way again. To be more precise in this case what is actually happening is the belt is effectively pushing down on the right with some force as it is lifting harder on the left lacking tension on the bottom the dangling part tries to bunch up but the forces force it to compress and flex. at that point the rotation of the belt will follow a constant path determined by the material densities, firmness, and malleability so long as the air hose supply remains consistent. A lot of words there but barely scratches the surface. I am sure a materials engineer can explain it better. The thing in the video is basically a heavy duty version of the rope/lasso launcher toys you have probably seen at some point. the ropes in those toys being lighter and more flexible maintain a wider loop as opposed to the snaking you see here.

Been very close to injury doing stuff like this with printing machine bearings. Had a couple shatter and throw the balls in all directions. Used to hold the small ones between finger and thumb then let them go across the concrete floor shooting sparks behind them. One night found some big ones (used/worn) about 5" across. Spun sideways like a gyroscope into my hand once up to speed resulting in a serious burn. I was lucky - i still have my eyes.....

@fustercluck2460
@fustercluck2460 Ай бұрын
In an intriguing demonstration of fluid dynamics and resonant frequency oscillation, the phenomenon observed can be attributed to the complex interplay of several high-order perturbative effects and non-linear dynamical instabilities. The rotational acceleration induced by the compressed air imparts angular momentum to the spring, which, due to its helical structure, behaves akin to a torsional waveguide. This induces a series of constructive interference patterns in the molecular lattice of the spring material, leading to periodic elongation and compression cycles at microscopic levels. Simultaneously, the Bernoulli effect caused by the high-velocity air stream generates a gradient of pressure along the spring’s longitudinal axis. This pressure differential initiates a quasi-harmonic oscillation in the spring’s physical configuration, manifesting as an amplified standing wave pattern. The incremental vertical displacement, or "zigzag" motion observed, is a direct consequence of the anharmonic coupling between the spring’s intrinsic vibrational modes and the externally applied aerodynamic forces. Moreover, the Coriolis effect, resultant from the rapid rotational motion, introduces a secondary centrifugal force component, thereby distorting the spring’s natural frequency and leading to a bifurcation of its dynamic equilibrium state. This manifests as a slow vertical ascent, as the spring’s structural rigidity is intermittently overcome by the kinetic energy influx from the compressed air stream, facilitated by the intermittent synchronization of its helical pitch with the rotational velocity vector. In essence, this perplexing behavior is a quintessential example of the intricacies of non-linear mechanics and the profound impact of multi-faceted force interactions in a rotationally energized helical system... nah im just kidding, i have no idea whats going on here.
