What a huge room! I know all that furniture cost a pretty penny and it looks so great when it is all white. My room is a hodge podge of pieces gathered from different rooms and collected over decades and now crammed into a single, smaller space, but I am content that I can still have a craft room after I downsized significantly. I genuinely feel happy for you to enjoy the luxury of what you have. It is beautiful.

My craft room is hodgepodge too. No two pieces of furniture are alike. Just like you, furniture from other rooms, yard sales, hand-me-downs from over the years. It doesn’t look pretty, but it’s functional and it works for me.

I relate! All of my stuff is from various parts of the house in a small bedroom. I took the time to paint it all white one day and added inexpensive decor here and there. It made it a lot nicer to be in there! ❤

Same! However, I like cohesiveness, and since I share my [cubicle] scrapbooking space/office with our guest room, painting the furniture the same color will help it look more smooth line. My husband bought me an old tv cabinet that came with two extra narrow book cases. And I can close the cabinet door so I don’t have to see my stuff. He put the exact shelves that I needed in there. It’s perfect! I had to purge some stuff, but now I don’t remember what I got rid of. Guess I really didn’t need it, right? It keeps me from buying too much stuff as well, to have a small area. Like you two said, contentment! 👍🏼🥰

An aesthetically pleasing space makes creativity soar! The room is beautiful. A crafters dream! For me there are obvious places where cheaper options can be made and used. Cheaper than $1.25 Dollar Tree items? It’s true. One cereal box or more sturdy cardboard box cut and using the natural corner in place of the clear plastic picture frames for example. One cereal box equals 4 of those. Leaving me $5 toward a better furniture piece! Just one small example! Having said that, I absolutely love your space! You, Courtney, are a master at your art! Thank you so much for sharing your fantastic space and for simply being YOU! Love you! Jen

I have 2 favorite organizing hacks. 1. Ikea 16 cube shelf. Buy soft sided cubes and label each one(such as calligraphy supplies, water color supplies, scrapbook paper, sticker and embellishments, etc. I label each one. It does not distract from the room. The other is the photo storage box you showed on the video. Not only for photos, but seeds for the garden, but in the craft room for the tiny detailed embellishments like fancy buttons, metal hinges, gears, jewelry pieces, etc! Having all like things together makes it easier to craft!

I built shelves for my ribbon! I can see it and just grab it whenever I need it! It works out great!😊 I really like your paint drawer!😊 Great DT hack!😊 I store my 2 oz. paint bottles in 3 octagon shaped wood shelves on my wall. I bought those photo contaideas last year when your craft room organizing video came out! I bought them for my wood small pieces, too!😊 Thank you so much for that awesome storage idea! I love it, Courtney, so thank you so much!❤ I use jars from the DT & mason jars for all of my beads, etc., too.😊 One of my storage hacks/idea is I put up lattice to store my florals. It works out very well for me.😊 I look forward to your upcoming video of the 10% that you have left to do!❤ Your surprise give-a-way is nice!😊 As always, Courtney, thank you for all of your hard work, creativity, talent, inspiration, and all of your wonderful storage hacks & ideas! My husband and I created a craft studio for me in spring of 2020 in our basement. I love crafting with my girlfriends, so we are now on Gina’s craft studio 4.0! 🤣 I’m hoping this is the 4th and final iteration of my craft studio. I have 3 of the kitchen islands from IKEA as the “sitting and crafting” space and a really lovely area on the perimeter with tons of great storage. Almost everything in there is from IKEA, with baskets from HomeGoods and other items from Michael’s, Joann’s, Target and Amazon. My friends are thrilled with the new space and so am I! I really was ruthless and purged 11 carloads of craft supplies to various places to donate and feel great about what I have and what I want to craft! My favorite organizing hack is know what you have and use it! I couldn’t believe how many duplicates I had of supplies until I really started purging! 🤦🏻‍♀️Thank you, Courtney, for your inspiration! You are one of the first KZbinrs I started watching in 2020 and you helped to reignite my love of crafting. I love your sense of humor, big heart, incredible crafts, and genius storage ideas! I look forward to each and every video! 😍

Well now I have craft room envy, lol! ❤ Currently, I craft in my kitchen on my island. My supply storage is on one section of bookshelves in our multipurpose room. Maybe one day I’ll be able to have an actual, dedicated room for crafting! I just organized all of my supplies, and my newest favorite hack is using a spice rack to store all of my chalk paints on. The different levels help me see all of my colors and reach the bottles easier. I also added some of the larger storage bins from Dollar Tree to store my wood pieces in. I have very limited space so I have to be creative. I can totally relate to the loud teenager while gaming! I literally just told my son that we could hear him all the way in another part of the house pretty far away from where he was playing. I don’t understand why they have to yell. I’m just glad our neighbors aren’t close to us, otherwise, there’s not telling what they would think! 🤣

My favorite craft organization tip is putting the small wood embellishments in the photo storage boxes. ❤ that tip! My guess is the ribbon stackable storage, but my dream answer is a 3D printer. 😂😂😂 I love your green backdrop. I think it is adorable and will be 😢 to see it go, but you are right that the wall is prime real estate. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Hi Courtney! I love ❤ your channel! Thank you for sharing all your tips with us!!! I have to say my FAVORITE item by far is the sign at the beginning that says 📜"My craft time is for your safety" 😂 I absolutely LOVE that!!! So many times over the years when I had stressful events going on in my life, crafting was my go to for stress relief. Sometimes when nothing was going my way and everything seemed to be in complete chaos I would organize 🗃️my craft space because I had control over that small area and if that was organized I could better organize my life. 🗓️ I've had many struggles over the years but my one safe space was my craft area. So that sign really felt reassuring to me that I'm not alone. Phew, that was deeper than I intended. 😂 Anyway.... My favorite organizing idea that you shared today is the ribbon organizer.🧮 I have struggled with my ribbon!!! A few years ago I had a wooden clothes drying accordion type thing 🪜and I cut one side off to thread all my rolls of ribbon on. It was large, bulky and ugly but my ribbon was all in one space 🤷🏻‍♀️ I had to move and the thing got in the way 🗑️ it and was just not good! So all my ribbon went into boxes 📦 and ugh it was just not ok. Last week I had found some wood things 🪜I don't even know what they are but they had notches in them so I tried to put dowels in them to put my rolls on and again ugly 🗑️and not the best idea. I had broken clothes hangers 👚 I used for crafts and I ended up sliding some ribbon on to them and then I saw a bracelet organizer 📿 and decided to order that to use. Still chaos and not great but it should work maybe. I dunno. 🤷🏻‍♀️Now I am obsessed with your ribbon organizer and I'm going to get me some of those!!! The bracelet organizer thing won't go unused though because I have about 100 bracelets needing to be organized. 🙄😁 😂 So this comment was so long and hopefully not too long but I was just so excited by your video today I wanted to share my thoughts with you. You're welcome 😂 oh and also I love mystery boxes ⁉️ so when I saw you're doing a type of mystery give away I wanted to enter and say I love that idea! ❤ Thank you for sharing your talent with us all and giving us inspiration! 🎉 Happy New Year! Happy Valentine's Day and Happy Everything Else!!! 🤩🥳🥰

@Creative on The Cheap Thank You Courtney for always keeping it real! Very sadly, my son passed away Jan. 15th & I only share this because I will be making a major shift into a larger crafting space in the next few months, with a door, versus where I craft now (kitchen/dining room); & this set up presently, does NOT meet my needs nor has it been conducive to filming what I create so I can start sharing with others. Also & I’m sure many DIYers/Crafters can appreciate this which is; when I can’t find something I know I have & have to spend a lot of time searching for it, it really exasperates me as well as dampens the creative process & I am at that point now. (I adore resin & consider Myself a resin artist. That being said, many people have asked me to start teaching classes but I feel that putting it up on KZbin will reach a larger audience). I also do a lot of other DIYs involving many of the materials/machines You share & it will be so nice to have everything organized, in 1 space; to embark on this endeavour. I really appreciate all of the tips & tricks you’ve shared here &, I thank You for this! I do have a question; whether you might have some ideas or any other fellow Creative On The Cheap crafters might, I have over 300 silicone molds (which the majority of them; I use regularly, when I move into the newer crafting space, I will be downsizing the ones I don’t use). Would you have any ideas on how & what I can use to organize my molds so that they’re organized & take up minimal real estate? They’re in plastic bins at present, stored by them or Holiday & I thought I’d try asking in case anyone might have a better idea that I haven’t thought of? (The majority of my molds are less than the size of my hand & I am very much getting into miniatures re: the molds. Any suggestions would be so appreciated @ I thank You for all that You do & all that You share ❤️

I store my reason molds in those pull out plastic draws as molds are not heavy so these are working for me even though it’s a new system, and I have a small light box on one and a bigger on the other for photos. I still work in dining room open plan kitchen and living space.

This was perfect timing for me right now. We have actually just purchased another house which is much smaller than the one we’re in. We bought a house that is closer to my daughter’s family so we will be closer to the grandkids which is what life is really about.I am giving up a pretty large craft room. It’s 20 x 18 and I’m going to be going down to a small room I have so much stuff. I have a 5 x 5 workstation in the middle of the room with all the IKEA drawers underneath it. But then again I’ll be nearer to my grandkids! I love all your organization hacks! I have a few of those. Thank you Courtney, if you can downsize, so can I!💜

My best suggestion is to get real with yourself about what you love to do and will actually do then let go of the stuff you tried and really don’t love. You’re not going to love it later after it’s been in a bin, bag, or drawer. Schools, scout troops, nursing homes, senior centers are wonderful places to donate craft supplies!

I've been downsizing SIGNIFICANTLY over the past few months (each season or holiday tote(s) I've gotten out) & then at the beginning of the year during our big snowstorm, I decided it's time! I truly appreciate all the tips 💖. I moved a few years ago from a 4 bedroom, 1 & a half car attached, & 2 car detached garage that was souped up (craft storage heaven) to a small 1 bedroom duplex! Let your imagination take it from there & remember I've been crafting over 50 years! It bout took me out where I am now. I am not completely satisfied yet but it is MUCH better. I need to go through 1 more time & really "let go". The thing I'm having the most problem with is ribbon!!! Thank you for that awesome ribbon container, storage, idea thingy 💝! Sorry for the novel but know there are those of us who truly struggle with space & these videos REALLY HELP 💝.

The gamer needs a welfare check!! Bwahahaha! I SO get that!! Okay... your craft room. I'm drooling. It's fabulous!! I love the mixture of pretty and practical. It's important to have the pretty in there too - like the hyacinth baskets for instance. Love the Dollar Tree paint storage hack! So smart! Love the cord labels. Gonna see if you linked those below. Love the ribbon storage! Love the way you store the small wooden cut-outs. Such a great idea! Such a great job Courtney, seriously! I don't have anywhere near as many items as you do but one craft organizational tip I like to use is to put twine and yarn in a half gallon mason jar, poke holes in the lid and pull the end of the twine/yarn up through the hole. I can usually fit 3 large skeins in each jar. Thanks for sharing your craft room and fabulous organizational tips with us!!

I love so many of your ideas! I have taken over 2 bedrooms in our house! One is my actual craft room and the other is storage for all the things I will never be able to use up completely! 😩 That second room was actually our granddaughters bedroom! 😬 But they do still have room to play and hang out in there if they want to. My husband and I were actually just talking the other day about donating a bunch of stuff and making that room completely theirs again! This has given me inspiration to do that! Thanks for all the ideas! 😊❤

Liana, i love your craftroom and how you use every bit of space to maximize storage for all yoyr beautiful things. I so beed to get more organized. My craftroom isn't much bigger than yours but it looks like a tornado threw up in it right now. I have very little time to craft and organize so it seems after i craft, the things I've pulled out dont get put away afterward. I need to go on an crafting sabbatical and do organizing instead. LOL. ❤❤❤

😊Last year I took some space and used my furniture as walls in my basement. All my big pieces have been free things I have repurposed. It has tons of storage and works really well. It's my micro storage I am working on now. So this video is perfect timing. Thanks for all your ideas and recommendations.

Hi Courtney I love your craft room, i have a dedicated space for my craft room outside in our over sized garage, it isn't insulated or climate controlled so its boiling in the summer and frigid cold in the winter here in Ontario Canada. It gets really freezing up here. We moved into our new home last year, in October and since then i have maybe crafted in there for about a week before i had finished unboxing stuff for the house and craft room because all the boxes were put in the garage and the furniture was put in the house so it was a big mess then i finally got to my craft things and then i set up zones for my sewing machines and jewelry station for jewelry making beads and wire string and so on and then i got into paper crafting which was a whole other expense and storage for that was a long time coming so all the things that could explode from the heat was taken out of the garage was taken out and moved into our house. more storage solutions had to be found for that and all the things that could freeze in the winter like paints markers and other liquids had to be brought into the house. so its a whole thing and i can say i haven't enjoyed the dedicated space for very long and my hugh barn needs some cleaning out of all the muck that was left behind from the people who owned the house before the people we bought the house from so chores are taking away from my crafting time. that being said with 5 horses and a barn to put them in is only a home for my two miniature horses because they are the only stalls in the barn other than a standing stall for a hugh draught horse which i have one but the floor was rotted out so he cannot stay in the barn or get through the door way currently in place to get him to said stall. Having a farm is great the 11 acres is our little slice of heaven and we love it here but there isn't enough hours in a day to get all the chores done in at the moment. the house is organized can i organize more? Sure i can but time! My craft room is organized, can i organize better? Sure but i need to get insulation vapor barrier and walls if i organize it completely i would have to take it all down to get this done so organizing is a bit of a waste of time at this point. I need new storage for my paper crafting and a work station for that. floral arranging is a great hobby and i have tons of flowers of all kinds but again storage. so i am aiming to use my craft room and my happy place eventually next year 2026 before spring. My barn has some structural issues that need addressing first before i can get the insulation done in my craft room, so i am back to being a crafting at the dining table for right now, i am still organizing things into photo box organizers i got a buy one get one free from Micheal's last year for i am doing that for my embellishments and i have 3 ring binders for all my cutting dies on magnetic sheets and document protectors and labelled as well as my stamps too. I have bought a lot from Temu for organizations but i also find their prices for the things i have bought are a little cheap looking. so i use them for other things around my house instead of my craft room. I love the 12x12 boxes from Micheal's which can be used as drawers in a unit from Micheal's but that's expensive to buy the unit so i have decided to make one instead much cheaper and much more sturdy than the one from Micheal's. I love Michael's stuff but they are a little on the pricy side i find. i am not paying for stuff that is going to fall apart in a year or so with usage. Sometime i think its better to make your organization items but other times it pays to buy the furniture and get that extra money invested in something that is going to stand the test of time and usage that we crafters need. so my Craft room is a seasonal work in progress right now and the craft room i have right now is in the great room in our house cos its way to cold to do crafts in the garage right now. My Garage craft room also doesn't have wall height room so lots of short walls so creativity in using the roof beams to store thing i do not use often is going to be stored above in the beams of the roof in baskets. I am taking notes and buy what i can from other crafters like yourself so i will be able to function in my new space. its mostly organized but a work in progress. Thanks for the support Courtney i do love your space its very bright and cheerful and the craft room we see is always clean and i love the way your talk to yourself cos i do it too. LOL Ok i have talked your ear off long enough have a wonderful day keep up the great work you are doing your amazing. God bless.

I have a small craft room that I share with my daughter and husband. I bought a bar cart for my cricut. It's great for me. I store my vinyl where wine bottles go . But it's a great tip for small spaces, I can wheel it into my living room and work on my craft and wheel back into the corner of my craft room when I'm done.

Beautiful craft room. Such a nice place to craft in. My craft room is a mess/chaos and needs organizing so bad. I plan to do that soon. My only helpful tip for space is I took off all the ribbon from there rolls and wrapped them around rectangle shaped chipboard. Then place them in a drawer by color/season. Those rolls take up so much space. TFS your beautiful craft room with us.

This was so awesome, thank you for sharing. I copied you re: plastic photo storage containers for wood cutouts after 1 of your recent Christmas DIY’s - definitely 1 of the best storage decisions I’ve made - thank you! Definitely getting more! My craft space is small & I had to get to a point of opening my mind to accept that I might not be able to store certain items how or where I wanted. This gave me the freedom to explore other ways like devoting a craft cart to all my embellishments, another to papercrafting, etc. or not keeping like-things stored together which is usual my preference. Last tip: accept the inevitable: if your crafting, it’s going to get messy & reorganizing is probably going to be regular need - might as well have fun with it! 📎

I’m going to try the scrap storage idea you showed. 📁Thanks for all the great ideas.

That room is huge!!! My craft room I can put 4 of them in yours. I love watching tips on organizing because of this. And yes love the idea of use your furniture. I am a multi crafter. My first love is crochet! So I have tons of yarn!!! I also love painting in crafts. That includes texture painting! I worked a indoor construction during my younger year which took me into loving wood! Then it's mini stuff. Yeah so I got so much stuff and it's all mixed and I try organizing but it gets so impossible sometimes I just walk away and it makes me sad! So when I can organize and find good ideas I apply them. But then there is the expense. I lost my job. My health is a huge factor in my finance due to I am a diabetic and also have hypothyroidism which are simular illnesses. So the medications are expensive and hold me back from my dreams of being a famous crafter! Everyone says Claritza you so talented and such beautiful things you make. Do a KZbin channel. I just don't have the right space and so not organized and don't have the fancy gadgets. So my crafts can get expensive to make due to having to buy everywhere from other people when I know I can make them myself and here we go expenses! So I know everything takes time and eventually I will get there one day. So with that I want to say your tips and ideas inspire me. And your amazing and so proud of you! I love what a loving mommy you are to! Never change!❤😊

Courtney, thank you for all your suggestions for organizing our craft rooms/spaces. So many great ideas that actually work! That in itself, is a game changer! Like you, I found myself starting one project and setting it aside, starting another and before long I had a real messy craft room again! I said, if you keep doing the same thing, you’re going to get the same result!!! So I made the attempt to either finish the project or at least put it in a basket to finish later and put all the supplies back where they go!!! Game changer for me. I made myself clean up my work area too, so when I came back to it, I was ready to start a new project or finish the one I was working on. Made a world of difference!!! It was difficult making myself do this, but I made this promise a part of my routine and it finally kicked in. Much more organized 98% of the time! Love your ribbon station. Gotta get that for sure. I have them lined up by season and color in tote. I have seasonal fabric I’m trying to organize now. Fat quarters etc. Would love to have any ideas on that. I totally understand your decision to change up your craft room. It has to work for you 😊I really appreciate you sharing your experience with this ongoing saga we all have! 😊❤👍💯

Oh my gosh ive been useing those photo boxes for my little embellishments for many years and i love them. I also bought a case of those clear storage boxes with the lids and handles, they are amazing. I took a bunch of ribbon off the spools rewrapped the could fit a ton of ribbon in them and did them by colors and seasons. Then the short ones i put larger embellishments in them by seasons. They really work fantastic! You can see everything in them, i also did them by seasons. They stack very nicely and work very well for me. Now i will be moving soon and am really purging my entire craftroom. I also have 2 large closets and a crawl space filled so i have a very large craft supply to go through. Ive been donating to the curch and they are thrilled. All the money from the thrift store they have goes back into the community and they sell every thing very reasonable. I have also donated to the schools and senior center. They are all very excited to recieve anything i give them. It saves them money and keeps them going. So i get it. I figured if i have had it for more then 2 years and havent used it them i not gonna. I didnt realize the i had as much as i do, i mean i know i have alot but didnt realize i had that much. So thanks for sharing your ideas with us. Have a fabulous weekend! Take care . Many blessings to you and yours 🙏❤️🥰❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏

There is no dedicated craft space in my house. I have a closet (crammed full of stuff) in one room and more stuff in a small spot in another closet and a hutch cabinet with even more. Every time I craft I drag things out to the bar in the kitchen; craft as much as I can; then haul it all back to it's proper place OR stack it all somewhere until I can get back to it. I'm so jealous of your space! Do I need all the stuff I have? Of course not -- just hard to turn loose of it! I've been trying really hard to use what I have rather than buy more -- that's the very best tip to organize and stay organized. Always a work in progress! Thanks for sharing your space. Looking forward to see your closet redo.

I have purchased two sixes of boxes from Michaels that are 14x14x3 and 17x15x6 which hold all my 12x12 cardstock beautifully. They are all stackable and have a large labeling area so you can make yourself a large easy to see label. I used my Cricut Joy to create my labels on 5.5x13 Smart Labels. It is so nice not to have a mat to cut and print these great labels and have them fit on the boxes. I have all my tools and craft supplies now in boxes with readable labels on wire racks purchased from Walmart. My stash is now all in one room and I feel so more organized. I now know that my IOD moulds, transfers and stamps are stored away safely until I need them again. It was very frustrating to purchase expensive craft supplies and tools and not having a safe place to store them. I also have the over the door storage for my vinyl and they are just the perfect storage solution for vinyl. Good luck with finishing your craft space! 🍱🗃

My two main crafts are card making and cartonnage. My favorite designer paper budget origination was purchasing paper display from Joann when they remodeled. Cheap and budget friendly! Also, I needed a space for my cartonnage fabric. To fit in my craft space, I purchased shoe organizers that hang in the closet. I can store by color family and have easy access to it. Thanks! I hope it is ribbon storage. 💝
