I felt Nina was greatly underused in the entire first season. She was suppose to be super smart, but she never shows that off. Honestly she has no real skills to be part of a task force let alone the sole task of doing things under water. Least Weasel has some combat skills, where as Nina is mostly running and hiding. Hate to say it, but the only reason she is in the show, was to die, which sucks.

This episode was completely BONKERS! I like how the overall season plot resolved in just a few moments. My eyes were definitely locked onto the screen. I don't care what anyone says... Based on her origin story, nina basically had no special powers other than being dependent on water. She also probably doesn't have any combat training. I'd buy that as an explanation on how llana unalived nina.

It had the perfect twist of who's the actual bad guy. Always felt like Circe was telling the truth while at the same time the princess felt innocent until the final episode. I always knew Frankenstein isn't there to do anything for the plot and Nina dying actually felt worse than GI's death. I am glad that The Bride amd Phosphorus survived

Granted this is probably prerecorded, but on rotten tomatoes KZbin channel, James Gunn said it's nosferata, not Francine Langstrom. Nosferata is a deep cut, but he said he paid people to scour the comics for random characters he didn't even know about. Highly recommend watching those clips, it's brilliant to watch the producers talk about their passion

They still have Circe, they can't put her ona team since she's human but they can use her prophetic powers to find out about future threats. They also showed Gorilla Grodd in the vision, I hope he's part of a larger plot. He could be using his mind control to manipulate nations behind the scenes.

I really enjoyed this series! It has lots of problems but it was fun fast and loose and had AMAZING art design. I ❤ it! I hope in the future if they do more animation for the dcu they make the story/ individual episodes at least 30min long each. I understand they were just trying to get this out fast but waiting a week for a 15 min episode like 4 was sucked! Thanks for covering the series looking forward to more of your content ❤

The caterpillar symbolism probably includes the machine enveloping Nina, like a cocoon she stops needing. She's always confined, like a fish in a bowl. To her suit, tanks, and bathtubs so she can breathe, and also socially. She's only free when she embraces being a monster, whether an outcast free from ridicule or among her own monstrous people, which ended really badly both times. The Bride had her arc thanks to Nina, which is why she accepts her new team, and I find it cool that the final member she looks at is a fish monster that's the opposite of Nina, a dumb brute that in a sense replaced her. Maybe she found it funny, like a cruel joke at her expense.

James Gunn did say this chapter of the DCU is Gods & Monsters. That might not just mean what we associate with the word monsters. The Princess was a monster. I think with the Waller show, we’ll see the horrible things she’s done. We can potentially see Simon Stag playing god with someone’s life and create Metamorpho, a monster, in the process. Playing gods and creating monsters. Gods doesn’t just have to mean Superman.

There is a massive plothole about why nina is in wallers custody cause the backstory does not explain it at all. She doesnt commit any crimes at all that would warrant her to be sent to a prison cell. Shes captured by some police men and gets her father murdered in front of her. She can speak and explain herself how does this result in her being imprisoned in a world that has normalised the existence of metahumans?

Clayface is a incredibly durable dude. He could just be in a coma. He dissolved in BM:TAM and returned. Nanaue may have just been arrested. He was granted amnesty at the end of TSS and he probably just got in trouble again.
