funny thing about this song: when it comes to modern grave-robbing, the old bones in the monastery are actually worth significantly more than a fresh corpse, since nowadays it's much more common for people to donate their bodies to medicine.

It depends on the pieces or amount you buy. Full skeleton, can be. Rare bones like skulls are expensive unless u come across a good deal. Rib and fingers are 20$. I've... looked into it in curiosity and for expiramental art purposes.

Well judging by the art this was song was set during the nineteenth century. Around that time (and before) grave robbers would dig up the "fresher" bodies and sell them to medical students. So basically you would want a dead body for research purposes...

When I hear this song I think of The Victorian era when this was quite common, then I think of people who, instead of going for the already dead, would make fresh specimens themselves, then I think of how that was the technique of 'Burking' came to be, then I think of my favorite substitute teacher, Mrs. Burke. She makes wonderful cookies.
