Nothing beats the beauty and simplicity of incandescent.

These do run cooler than the older generation LED's. However, they are still not rated for a fully enclosed fixture. I think the heat would build up and cut their life short.

Thank you. This was exactly what I was looking for. Especially the comparison of warm and bright plus the dimming. I am in a new house with a few dimmers on similar ceiling fan light fixtures. You rock and have a fun personality that can relate to the average person not the super techs.

Thanks for the review. You should have left all four lights in while dimming to see difference

@EliteGeeks These bulbs actually say that they work with a standard dimmer on the package. In my experience though, both the special LED dimmer and the regular dimmer cause the lights to buzz a little bit.

Yes, the do buzz. Can't hear it with the TV on, but otherwise it is noticeable. I think they buzz more now than when they were new.

great video! thanks. I found that the 40watt equivalents were plenty bright enough for my lamps and the bases did not get nearly as hot as the 60watt equivalent. The 40watt equivalents dim down lower on my insteon dimmers. Also, the 40watt equivalents buzz less when dimmed compared to the 60watt equivalents.

These were probably the first 9W = 60W LED.

Thanks for including an observation on "buzzing" sounds made by various light bulbs. I've always found that annoying. Household items should only make noise if that's their purpose!
@EpicReviewsTech10 жыл бұрын
And the buzzing has increased some over time. But if the TV is on or the AC is running I don't hear it.

I’ve seen these Cree LEDs in use but never the 5000K version, daylight versions seem rare

I love that ceiling fan! And fan collectors, do you know what brand of this fan?
@BAFVintage8 жыл бұрын
Nope, the fan itself is a Ritz Tangiers, but the canopy is from a Hunter Original.

ritz

Are you using an older style conventional dimmer? Is your dimmer compatible with CFL and LED lamps? Most dimmable CFL and LED lamps are not truly compatible with older conventional dimmers. Upgrading to a LED compatible dimmer should correct the issue of the lamp turning on too bright initially when you ramp the dimmer up from 0% towards 100%.

You have a very very rare ceiling fan there it's name is Ritz there very cool

These are older LEDs.

Why didn’t you dim the incandescent bulb with the Cree LEDs?.

nice ritz ceiling fan and if a dimmer is hooked to the ceiling fans aswell, remove it. it can burn out the motor.

Hi, incandescent user here. I have yet to find good alternative for my favorite tungsten bulb due to the fact that all these "green" efficient bulbs always provide poor lumen, they are always equivalent to 60w and no more, and of course the worst part, the light spread is awful and this is especially true for LED's which work light a flash light rather than house hold bulb. Relying on gimmicks to point the light in different directions. Anyway in my garage and computer room I use 200w incandescent bulb. It's like desert from just single power source. Imagine if I made a chain of those lights

why would you do this experiment in a well-lit room? why is there bright daylight spilling into your experimental environment? Could you please repeat in the dark?

If you use bulbs that are not designed to be used with a dimmer switch. Just don't use CFLs or LEDs that are not "dimmable"
