"My Own Prison" and it video was one of the greatest things rock to ever be born in thr 90s and that's saying a whole helluva lot amongst the likes of Layne Stayley, Pantera, and Chris Cornell who I admire so so much more especially as an audio engineer. I loved and lost a lost of brothers who were connected with me through Scott Stapp and the band Creed. They all were excellent and so many more ultra hardcore sludge, death, heavy metal bands. I still get goosebumps every time I watch this...it keeps showing up on youtube and I just can't help it. His voice back then was just insane, that scratchy grungy sound when he says "what if" man I just wish he could still sing like that and did that on his more recent solo album. His new album is actually pretty good, but if he did that voice like in the old Creed stuff, man that shit would go just as viral as creed back in the day.

This is one of the incredible live voices I’ve ever heard. My two favorite bands are Metallica and Maiden. James and Bruce both have incredible voices, but I’ve never heard one like his here. Wow.

Creed was one of the most amazing bands live back in the day. From 99’ until the mid 00’s. Creed always brought their “A” game when it came to their live performances. Incredible shows at the Staples Center, Anaheim (Weenie Roast) and the reunion at Irvine. Awesome band !!!

November 10, 1999 at the Hollywood Palladium. One of the best live performances I’ve seen...and I’ve been to a lot of concerts over the years. Too bad they couldn’t keep it together.

Watching this basically shows you why his voice become shot after like 2005 and on. Just watch his 2009 Creed Live performance…. Absoloutly zero grit. Scott pushed so hard with zero technique and blew it out! But luckily, watching their recent Summer of ‘99 cruise performances, he’s gained a lot of his vocal ability back!

Love watching bands--especially singers--in their prime. I mean holy shot listen to that voice! Love it or hate, to be able to do that sustained gritty tone in pitch like that is freaking incredible and it's also no mystery why he can't do it anymore lol. That'll kill the ol' larynx!
@Wolfmoss15 жыл бұрын
That's one of my favourite things too! I love watching footage of Eddie singing with Pearl Jam in 1990-91. Same with Maynard singing in Tool in 1992. So much youthful energy that their powerful tone comes out effortlessly. It's a joy to behold. This is my first time seeing raw footage of an early Stapp singing and it brought me the same enjoyment :)
