I saw John Fogarty live a couple of years ago. The man is 75 and he played for close to 3 hours. After he left the stage, nobody in the audience was leaving. We were all just screaming and cheering. After about 10 minutes, John came back out and did a 30 minute encore! Such an amazing and talented musician.

I was lucky enough to catch him about 15 years or so back and same thing, played his ass off for 2 and a half hours, then laid down a killer encore. Great band playing with him too - killer show all around.

David Bradshaw that’s amazing. Great side note is that one of the guys in his band was his son. They just kept looking at each other with huge grins. It was great to see that.

Wow, he did an encore?? Holy mackerel, that's interesting; see, back in the Creedence days, John Fogerty had refused to do encores... he said it was schtick. So, I guess now he's changed his tune? (pun not intended)

Was that at the Beacon in NYC, by any chance?? Because I’ve seen him there annually, and the last time, probably late 2018, what you described happened! It was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. He’s so amazing. I’m a huge fan 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️

I grew up listening to CCR always feel good when on the radio. I have since moved on to other music and genre's as they faded away. Only hear them on goldie oldie stations if lucky. Finding them again on KZbin is fabulous! Takes me way way back. I am 72 now and rocking in my seat! Can't rock like I used to but sure would love to have blaring on my player while cleaning house. LOL Love it. Thanks. Yeah too short. Maybe can find a longer version???

Back in the Bay Area where they are from, where I am from back in the day we just kind of took them for granted. I appreciated them especially because they sounded like a garage band, and I was IN a garage band . . . They have (that is John Fogerty has, because CCR was ALL John Fogerty) REALLY aged well, to put it mildly.

Actually, the song here isn't speaking about a literal Green River...the title was something he'd gotten from the name of a soda syrup he saw at a soda fountain shop when he was a kid. But the part about Cody's Camp is real...that was about camping at Putah Creek in Winters, California with his family. You can read all about this in John Fogerty's book, Fortunate Son; My Life, My Music.

That was the first record I could afford to buy. Hearing it takes me back to days long gone, when the heat of the Sacramento delta turned my room into an oven and melted the vinyl over the bottle of Ripple that was lying underneath it (Ripple was the really cheap wine we drank back then). I thought it was great music even though I couldn’t understand most of the words. Now with subtitles I like it even more.
