I love fishing in creeks like this! Last spring I caught a 19" smallie in 3 feet of water in a river that is 15 yards across! It was crazy! If you fish creeks like this long enough, you'll stumble upon a good one, and it is pretty cool to see a 15+" smallie smash a bait in a teeny little creek, also, those "warmouth" are actually green sunfish. Keep an eye on those larger ones though, you are getting some nice ones, and 1lb will get you the junior world record!

That's funny. I went creek fishing today to. In total we (my buds and I) caught 8 smallmouth, 6 rock bass, 9 bluegill, 4 warmouth, 12 long-ear sunfish, and a shinner!

Yeahhhh. Those aren't Rock Bass. They have bright red eyes and tight stripes on their sides. Going to camp to do some creek fishing and this vid got me pumped. Keep up the good work,bud!

night crawler on the bottom works decent for catfish in smaller creeks like that. I catch them in little beaver ponds on small creeks with night crawler, even on a float if it is fished deep enough.

I've only caught one pike and it was so long ago I don't remember how it fought. I've been catching some large bass lately and they fight as good as a catfish but they swim to you about half the time. Catfish put up a great fight and they seem to swim to you less often so overall they are better fighters. Carp are the best fighting fish I've ever caught. Bluegill are the best tasting fish I've ever had but if I fished to eat i'd never fish longer than an hour.

Hay buddy i think those weren't war mouths.... But i can be wrong. I have seen War Mouth's in the city of bloomington IL and i have seen Green sunfish. i honestly could be wrong but i think there were Green sunfish. But over all nice fish. hope you make a video of that creek with your fly rod. tight lines.

you should try a panfish tube there, they work amazing so long you dont use a weight. most of the bites you will get on them will be on the drop.

I used to have a pond by my house full of green sunfish. You could catch one every cast, and a monster like every hour. I caught two or three 3+ pounders out of it. Unfortunately I didn't realize they were records at the time and released them. Then we stocked the pond with huge bass and catfish and now there's very few sunfish left. Kind of sucks.

Yeah, size is relative to the body of water, although, there are exceptions(However a smallmouth of that caliber is not feasible for that small an area). Take for example, a small golf course pond I know of has a 15 pound catfish in it, along with several 4-7 pound largemouth in it.

A warmouth is a type of sunfish, but what he was calling warmouth are really green sunfish. There are also a hybrid bluegills, which are a cross between a green sunfish and a bluegill.

I always go creek fishing in a little hole and generally catch warmouth and brim, u catch any brim in that creek ps. Try a soft plastic crawfish with a hook u use wen usin the wacky rig, warmouth nail them also ive heard warmouth be called rock bass b4 these the same names?

Nope, very different species bub. War mouth "gulosus" are a typical sunfish while Rock bass "rupestris" are a black bass, along with largemouth ect. War mouth often take the appearance of a large bluegill, while Rock bass often look more like a crappie in coloration. However, they are caught using much the same technique.

I find this interesting. Because one day I found this very very small pond, and it looked very dirty and poluted. So I decided to cast a tiny grub just for fun and not expecting to catch anything... then I was catching load of those green sunfish or rock bass.

War mouth are one of two fish depends where you from. Pumkinseed aka blue gill that have bright red or orange around their mouths it can also be a fish closely resembling the bass but kind of an orange color

I refer to all sunfish as perch and even though I know this is not correct I also refer to warmouth and rock bass as largemouth perch. I don't see how this is more fun than carp fishing. Carp put up a great fight and make better catfish bait which would be the only reason I fish for perch with the exception of enticing young children to like fishing.

dude..you see that shallow rapid water..it's called a break..get your self a sane and a minnow bucket. Put the sane down stream of the rapid and start turning rocks over upstream. you will fill the sane with small craw fish, helgramites and other cool natural baits. Put bate in in minnow bucket..fish..throw that rooster tail away.
