Creekin is some of the best fishing you can do, then again I was born and raised in the midwest/south so that was a staple as a kid growing up. Nothing like taking a few poles, some crawlers, cut hotdogs, and a few rooster tails and hitting creeks on a warm summer evening. I do a fair amount of creeking up here in the mountains up until we are froze over chasing little brook trout and other species.

I've been so down that I have not been keeping up. I fixed that today and ran older videos and the current one. If you recall I'm 75 years old, and got robbed by knife holder. I had on heavy coat so knife didn't get to my skin. Scary stuff. Watching you today was great fun and please be aware you don't have to catch to be fishing. Thank you for bringing joy to my world. Stay safe.

I like a weighted slip bobber for fall crappie, takes some tuning for jig weight vs bobber response but I think it enables me to vertically jig a spot a little longer from the bank. Thank you for the consistent uploads, you got a good thing going and I appreciate the work you put into videos for me and the rest of the chuckleheads to enjoy at our leisure.

👍👍👍👍👍great catch and cook video the scenery was great in the video. The cooking was great. I baked catfish fillets the oven. I put old bay on them garlic powder sometimes onion powder and I open the corner of catfish crispy Louisiana catfish fry and dust them. Just give them a little different look. I bake them at 425 for about 35 to 40 minutes max . And finally got my wife to eat them and it doesn’t smell the house up as bad as when she cooks brussels sprouts I wanna leave😂.

This is my favorite spring time dish along with some young wild asparagus spouts but I think winter time and fall crappie fishing is my favorite and instead of morels I have hen of the woods or oyster mushrooms...
@briangamber60513 күн бұрын
@ where I’m from in Missouri my family and I know where to find asparagus on the side of gravel roads. I like oyster shells and hens also but let me shake it up more. Instead of crappie cook up some spoonbill (paddlefish) with some early season morels. Would love to see Spencer reel in some spoonbill.
@Fishingwithmayor2 күн бұрын
@briangamber6051 yeah I like some paddle fish on the grill but my favorite on the grill would have to striper wipers and whites are pretty good fried when cleaned right but them big stipers are amazing grilled or blackened.. I recently put two big shoulder chunks on my fathers pellet grill after they was done I put some ghost pepper mozzarella on them and put them back in the smoke for a few mins to melt cheese and ad smoke to the cheese.. let me tell you ! It was as good as anything I've ever eat..

You should fish the driftless area some time. Upper Iowa river has some great brown trout and walleye fishing. They are talking about removing the upper and lower dams east of decorah and if you’ve never been up there it would blow your mind how they got that lower dam built out in the middle of nowhere. Waterloo creek has great numbers of trout as well as bear creek. Truly one of iowas hidden gems.

I grew up crappie fishing Spenc. When they won't hit most of the time if you change colors it will help. Crappie are wierd like that. I love using 1/8 or 1/16 pink jigheads with a small curly tail or Bobby garland. I also have some crappie jigs that have different color heads with like the thin shiny or sparkling nylon or whatever skirts. Sometimes I'll throw a curly tail on one of those. Usually can catch at least enough for bait or food if not limit out or better. Maybe if you're ever in Indiana we can hit a big reservoir that has slab crappie, monster flatheads, and some huge blues if u can find them.
