Wonderful footage from Mr. Hawk as always! Also I witnessed a winter steelhead run on the river today, it was wild. Thousands of them chomping through everything in their path. One of the most glorious experiences I've had fishing/hiking to date. They even did they thing where they hop outtta the water to snap the bugs hovering over.

@FishHawk3 жыл бұрын
I have both gold and silver. I just prefer gold for wild brown trout. They seem to like it better. Or maybe I'm just more confident in it. Who knows lol
@christopherbennett45593 жыл бұрын
@@FishHawk I think that alot of people get confused about this. I often wonder about it. I always thought silver for dirty water and gold for clear. Since I live in the south the water is never crystal clear here so I use silver. I can afford only one that's why I asked. That would be a great topic for alot of people. I asked many people and they say it's what they like. I thought it depends water on water clarity but I don't know for sure.Thanks for responding.
@FishHawk3 жыл бұрын
@@christopherbennett4559 some people do base it off of water clarity and the sky/sun/clouds. But a lot of times I just go with what I'm confident in. If silver isn't working well, I switch to gold. If gold isn't working I switch to silver and then just stay with whichever one is working.

What do you do if a small trout swallows your hook? Like it's much too small to keep but more than likely won't survive? I've heard some people say you can just cut the the line and leave the hook if it's not bleeding super bad ? Would like to get an experienced anglers take on it
