Awesome finds brother very nice. Just moved to southern Kentucky been finding some cool stuff but no pipes yet. That's so cool. Never rock hounded till I moved here. Very cool stuff to find. Pulaski county. Definitely worried about the welfare of what's going on presently in eastern KY. The flash flooding is horrible stay safe

That's a nice little blade. They loved that brown flint. Normally when you find a piece of material. Its been worked. Hopefully tomorrow we will find something good. The old lady said it would be ok. LoL Sucks your other finds were broken. But it's still evidence. Their still artifacts. Its really weird that I found a stem off a trade pipe. Then you found a bowl off one. In the same general area. I wish you the best of luck. I'll see you in the morning brother. P.H.

Thanks brother . It would have been cool if I found the other part of your trade pipe . Lol! Eric found a piece of one yesterday to. I am pretty sure the lost lake and kirk people made that blade and they sure did love that brown flint . Wait til you hold it and see the killer flaking on it . Stuff is cool looking . I was happy to get out of the house and find a few things . Thanks for watching brother. I will see you in the morning .

Hello there. I live on the KY/TN line between Franklin, KY and Orlinda, TN. I know absolutely nothing about these kinds of things but I have some arrow heads I've somehow acquired over the years and I'm just fascinated everytime I hold one. Anyway, can you please tell me a little more about the pipe fragment you found and show in the early part of this video? Specifically, do you have any idea whatsoever how old it may be or who probably made it? I'm guessing it's indians but I'm not even sure of that. Also, it doesn't really look handmade to my VERY untrained, inexperienced, and uneducated (on artifacts) mind. I mean, it looks to perfect and too uniform. The top of the bowl seems to be exactly the same thickness all the way around it. I also don't see any of the chipped off divots like you see on arrowheads. PLEASE PLEASE don't take my questions wrong or as if I'm suggesting you are faking something or are wrong or anything else. Clearly you know what you are doing. I am simply trying to learn a little bit here. Thanks very much for any help or insight you may offer!
@bluegrassrelics1969 Жыл бұрын
How's it going, brother ? The trade pipe piece is likely early to mid 1800s Era. They were originally made and brought here by Europeans and traded with Native Americans for fur and / or other goods . I'm pretty sure after that, they were manufactured here as they became popular among early Americans . I've also heard them called Penny pipes . The piece I found is of unknown origin . It could have been used by indians but most likely wasn't. It is really just speculation at this point . It is amazing the things you can find in a creek . Back in the old days, folks threw their trash over the hill in creeks, and it wasn't frowned upon like today . Some of this stuff got mudded in the bank and eventually gets washed out years later . Thanks for stopping by, and that's a great set of questions . I'm definitely no expert, but I hope that I shed some light on these trade pipes for you . Best wishes to you

I live in Kenton County Kentucky. Are there artifacts in all creeks you think? I have creeks by my house.
@bluegrassrelics19692 жыл бұрын
I wish all creeks had artifacts in them . Some I've walked produced nothing and some do . I guess if you look a creek that is in an area where a camp was then your in business. Best I can tell you is go walk some and look for some . I hunt one creek that doesn't produce many artifacts but everytime I find one it is very old and usually awesome points . It takes patience hunting in creeks . Look on exposed gravel bars . These are areas I like to look . Hope this helps . Thanks for watching and goodluck .
