good comparison especially for new drivers ....more times than not the body is a more important upgrade than the motor/esc

I drove one today, it was less than impressive, under powered, over geared and just wasn't up to par with a TRX6. Granted its close to half price.

I have the axial 6x6. It’s a lot of fun, but the stock tires leave a lot to be desired IMO. Granted, I was driving in snow, but just swapping the rear 4 tires out to the stock canyon trail tires that came on my trx4 sport, made a huge difference in the snow. I’ve heard the stock Axial tires are decent on rocks and such, but I bet there are many better options. I have a 3s battery and it has decent speed. But it could benefit by getting a brushless upgrade.

Joe, it would be interesting to do another comparison with the same body and tires and remove the bumpers once you get your TRX6. I’d love to find a TRX6 without a body or a destroyed body for a good deal as I have a motor/esc and a spare Raw500 servo.

Jon Thomas I literally just ordered a TRX6 and the complete set of axle housing by Yeah Racing yesterday through Amain with Joe’s link. I can’t wait to get my hands on it. I’m very disappointed with Axial’s 6x6, the bridge housing just keeps stripping the gears so now I’m gonna throw my old axles from my new TRX6 under it to make it a performer. Hope all goes well. @@kravenkrawlhobby5438 yeah I’m a fan of the plastic as they slide over the rocks better. The metal is cool though. Amain has a “scratch and dent” one but it’s still $619🤪. Not sure what’s up with that. If I got one I’d probably just do Treal brass front portal covers, switch to a HW1080 ESC and drop my Raw500 servo in it.

I would much rather have the 2nd gear than dig. also use the throttle trim on your flysky remote at around 30% it will crawl super slow in combo with the hobbywing foc its amazing

Well, its definitely clear that the TRX platform still is the benchmark for trail/crawling. The stock capability is immense, the aftermarket options are almost infinite...and most importantly, these rigs are bullet proof. I wonder if a TRX4/6 "EVO" is under way or not... And talking about "evolution", when will you get the chance to try out the GEN8 V2? Better still, if the opportunity comes, what are your thoughts on making a "battle of the underdogs"? 4 rigs come to mind : GEN8V2, CROSS RC EMO, GMADE GSO2, ABSIMA SHERPA... Oh, by the way...happy holidays!

So, the TRX6 wins. Honestly, I'd choose the Traxxas any day. The Creep is like the fragile, fringe toy that has a very specific purpose that causes it to be less fun everywhere outside of that purpose. Look, it couldn't even get up that bank that the TRX launched right up. And it's certainly less fun for just blasting around.

How fast is the TRX-6 with the 3300 kv motor? I'm going brushless for more top speed but keep similar torque for the slow stuff. I think 20-25 mph in high gear would be just enough to get in trouble with.
