CREEPIEST Discovery Yet in ABANDONED Estate

As if we didn’t have enough to do -- we recently rescued another massive historic property. The 20-room Dower House was originally part of the main estate and has an incredibly beautiful setting out in the countryside. The inside of the house is another story! Over the years, this Georgian manor/cottage has been hacked to pieces and much of the charm has been lost. We’re determined to save it! We’ll remove all the modern bits and restore what’s been lost -- one wooden beam and brick at a time. Unfortunately, we soon discover we’re not alone and the intruders are Borja’s worse nightmare!

I was getting kindling and I pulled the tarp cover up and there was a giant wood rat 🐀 staring at me!😳I screamed and my 14 pound little dog went Cugo crazy and was trying to get it! Whilst I was having (I thought) a heart attack! I called my husband and he told me to call our builder to come over and take a look! Short… He saw it! Called my husband and said the rat is gigantic! Shorter… It’s gone now! 🐀 BTW it was out on our back deck by our door! If the rat was in the house, I would be moving!😝😜🤪 Shortest… Loving your KZbin account! Can’t wait for the next video!🥰

Highly recommend keeping those lovely oak doors unpainted at least for now. Easy enough to add paint later once you’ve got the rest of the decor sorted if you still think there’s too much wood. For me there’s no such thing! Lovely seeing you bring this to YT ❤

Great video...sorry about Mr. Rat. Decades ago, when I was in high school ("secondary school"), I worked at an automobile repair shop where I grew up, in Texas. A nice lady who lived on a farm brought her car in for service, and as I raised it on a hydraulic lift to reach the car's underside, the springs loosened. A critter that looked the size of a water spaniel plopped upon the garage floor. The entire staff of five people began chasing the terrified creature with various blunt instruments...frightened the bejesus out of everybody, and, of course, led to the demise of the rat whose tail was as long as its body. I wish I were closer; I own a beautiful small carved marble mantle, "federal style," that would look beautiful in your estate. I'd gladly contribute it to your worthy project, but it weighs as much as a rat-infested sedan.

Welcome to my world, guys... at least it was when I was restoring my listed Cotswolds house. Rats cause horrendous damage and are a health hazard - I tried everything until I came across the Good Nature Humane A24 rat/mouse trap - not joking, but almost instant success and I now always use them - I have one in the loft and three outside - one in the walled garden, where the bins are and the storage cupboards. Works better than anything, and is a humane way to solve the problem. Yes they are expensive but you only need to change the cartridge every six months and they give peace of mind...
