I can't speak enough about the quality and look of Creeping Phlox in my area. Here in zone 7b it is a perennial and it prefers full sun.

Thank you for showing about splitting the phlox. I am trying to achieve the same color alternating look and need 3 more of the brighter pink to complete it. I will now be able to split what I have already and save money too. Thanks

Can phlox be deadheaded to produce more blooms? Mine are fading already and I have only had them for one month. I'm in zone 7b also, Delaware.

Great video! Are these rabbit resistant?

Thanks, yes for me. I do have a rabbit family in my yard and so far they've been only eating my Oakland hydrangea.

hello I am looking for creeping seeds of phlox subulata or phlox shibazakura do you know anyone who sells this
@aridon19812 жыл бұрын
Hi, no I never tried to grow them from seeds as they are so easy to propagate. Have you tried Johns seeds?
@aridon19812 жыл бұрын
I would recommend you to look at nursery and buy a plant. You can split and propagate both of those varieties.

Can I plant on top of black paper
@boombastik3584 Жыл бұрын
I just did this 4 days ago. I split three pots of creeping phlox and planted them all over my retaining wall. Half of them looks dead/wilted. Are they going to come back to life? :(
@aridon1981 Жыл бұрын
Yes, they will. Just keep watering them daily! As long as the root system establishes, they will come back to life and grow in no time by the Spring.

@@aridon1981 Ok I'll take your word for it. :) I was really worried because this is my first time gardening. Everything I planted is going according to plan so far except the creeping phlox. And it is the most I want to work beautifully! But I trust you. You know better than I do! Haha! Thank you so much for your immediate response! It immediately calmed me down as soon as you said that! I really appreciate it! :) You have a very beautiful garden! I hope my garden looks like yours in the future! :) I think I planted too much for a beginner. Haha! I planted a bunch of creeping phlox, double knock out roses, dianthus, hostas, impatiens, begonias and I was able to grow from seeds some black eyed susan, shasta daisies, zinnias, dahlias, marigolds, sunflowers, eggplants, tomatoes, cilantro, lemongrass, basil and thyme. I hope everything turns out great! I can't wait for everything to grow maturely and bloom! Wish me luck! :)

@@aridon1981 Hi Nodira! Just want to give you an update. All of them (except for 1) have sprouted fresh new foliage! They're alive! Woohoo! I'll keep an eye out for that last one. I'm hoping it would come back to life just like the rest. :)

Part of my border didn’t make it this year, I think weeds killed it. Now I have a blotchy mess.
@aridon19813 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that but hey on a bright side you learned that the area you plant should be weeds free, right? It's all a trial and error process. My very 1st pot of creeping Phlox died on me. But the cuttings that my friend gave thrived. So don't give up.🌸

Hey, here’s an idea! Why not invest in a camera that can capture images which are more clear and crisp. This vid is made totally bogus by the inability to visually appreciate your garden which seems to have some beautiful flowers, but the images are so hazy and out of focus that it’s not worth watching.
@aridon1981 Жыл бұрын
Hey, I have even better idea. How about hiring a camera man that could video record me and then edit the videos and post for me? That’s my ultimate goal. But during Covid time I asked my 11 years old daughter to record for the most part as I wanted to share the concept of gardening. This was my gift to all for free. Try to follow the concept of growing phloxes, you will love the outcome.
@danabrousseau6579 Жыл бұрын
@@aridon1981 Did not want to come across as negative, appreciating the fact that you were simply promoting the use of phlox as ground cover. I, too, am presently replacing my front lawn with something more low maintenance: Dragons Blood sedum against Candy Stripe Phlox and Beach Stone with larger plants Purple Passion Rhodos and Stewartstonian Azalias. Not sure why your camera images are so out of focus. Usually cameras nowadays are autofocus? But great on you and your daughter for your yt contribution! I live in Halifax, NS.

@@danabrousseau6579 Any feedback is a great reflection of community. I appreciate it. And I still garden but no one is available to record me anymore :) I'm seriously on a look out for a camera man :) I'll be back :) Happy Gardening.
