I have aspergers and I can talk to people and everything that everyone else can. I just dont want to. I am introvert yes, I live so that I can see people without having to be around them. I have issues with it ofc but there is just as many versions of asperger that there is aspergers. Dont judge us because of a couple of letters. Some have it worse, some is like me or better. Anxiety is a huge problem that most of us have. I can say that this situation would freak me out totally.

The best (worst) part is that aspergers actually classifies the portion of autistic people that can function in normal society. Personally I prefer the term "High Functioning Autism" but whatever. I'd just like to note that people with Asperger's shouldn't be referred to as 'patients'. Like, it's just a high-functioning form of autism dude. It ain't like we're like, all needing to be in a psych ward or something. Hell, most of us seem pretty normal when you just talk to us. Because everyone seems to be annoyed it ended like that (including me) I'm gonna come up with my own ending. The rattling continued, then seized. What took its place was a massive thump. It was as if whoever was out there was throwing themselves at the door. Frantically I searched for a weapon but the only thing I had was a plastic clothes hanger. "Better than nothing." I thought. Suddenly the door burst down. Instinctively I raised the hanger above my head, ready to strike. A tall figure stepped into my home, and with a gruff voice it spoke. "Why are you still here?" it asked. "I-I-I don't know!" i whimpered, my voice breaking out of shear terror. "Come here, as long as you listen you won't be hurt." I don't know why but I took a shaky step forward, followed by another. Soon I was standing in front of the figure, who turned out to be a large man. He then grabbed my arm. By this moment I was frozen in shock and helpless to do anything. As he guided me down the stairs he spoke again. "Well guy, your one of the lucky ones. You get to be one of us now." I hope you like it it's just my interpretation of the ending!

When he mentioned a smell of heat it would appear that the character is having a nightmare while his building is on fire. The banging on the door is someone trying to open the door to rescue him. The footsteps was most likely to be a firefighter looking for people trapped.

the correct term/level of his misanthropy is: Mild. in the beginning as he described himself it is how a mild misanthrope functions, and they usually just wanted to go their paths in peace and respect, plus apathetic. but some only open up to Genuine humans and that's it.
