A compilation of the ways Ingrid can meet a terrible end (besides the small detail of ending up in Hell). It continues the dark fairytale vibe with the very unreassuring note of how many children are in the underworld.
Great series for the aesthetics. I didn't realize this game had released this month so I guess I'll need to keep better track for future games (especially since the owl library hints at a fourth game).

You know funny enough, fairy tales are actually more messed up than people realize, if not more than this series ^^ The ones people know now are the "safe/kid-friendly" versions of them, but look it up, the original fairy tales made by the Brothers Grimm are a lot darker and often at times seriously messed up.

It's also important to remember to only sometimes go in the opposite direction. Not to say that fairytales shouldn't be dark. But people miss that many stories are filled with wonder and screwed-up stuff. The contrast is what makes them so powerful. Of course, it depends on the fairytale. There are just as many that are depressing with no hope whatsoever. But people miss what makes them so disturbing is That horrible fates that befall people are considered justified. "It's good that little Tommy got eaten by the witch serves him right for not doing his chores.' It only comes across as cosmic horror from our current perspective. And it should, but the twisted morals make them disturbing; otherwise, they may as well go the Lovecraft root. It just depends on what tail you're adapting, Or drawing from. Not to say that using the same format for teaching modern morals or deconstructing outdated ones are bad either. But if you're going to do that, do it well, or it can backfire spectacularly. Also, it's important to note that there is a big difference between Brother grim style fairytales that are thousands of years old. Which were as much for adults as for kids. And books like Oz, Alice in Wonderland, or peter pan. Which were made for kids in the 19th century but can still be enjoyed by adults. These are still dark as hell. But in an earn-your-happy-ending kind of dark instead of everyone getting eaten by ogres dark. And even they very in a tone quite a bit. All three are very different stories. That came from VERY, VERY different places, trust me!. The best ones are those that are meant to be horrifying. But that's to make the happy ending more worth it, like Pinocchio or more modern examples like Coraline though I enjoy the others kinds two. I am not dissing the game, mind you. Fairy tales like this have their place too. Just remember that there are other ways to write them. The different interpretations are half the fun as long as they stay true to the story's spirit. Fairy tails can be for kids, adults, or both. Sorry for the rambling comment. It's there are people on the extremes on this topic that drive me nuts.

Deaths just keep getting more violent and brutal with each sequel. Unlike the protagonist of the previous game, Lars, who was needed alive for the main antagonist (even though most monsters still want to just kill you), here everyone wants you dead lol
