Hi Christy. This just came up on my feed. Nice one pal, it is to this day still my favourite song and I love singing it and hearing it been sung. Lovely all round job on it by the way. And I used to have a Fylde and I regret ever selling it on but I know it went to a great guy called Eric in Germany who is also a great player. Slainte pal. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Wow, thanks for the nod. You do such a brilliant job of this song. My daughter Lauren have listened to your version countless times..she loves how she can visualize the story in her head (she’s 6). Cheers, Chris

Nice version 😀😀 This song was the reason why I started playing Irish Bouzouki. I saw Daori Farrell`s version here on YT and was hooked. My version is closer to yours than Daori`s - my fingers aint fast enough for the riffs and runs that he does. 🙂

Awesome cover! How did you learn the song? I'm relatively new to bouzouki so I'm looking for a tutorial to push a bit more complex playing. I'm currently just a chord strummer, not many melody runs.
@matthewgreene15854 жыл бұрын
What tuning are you in? Standard? Would much appreciate an answer to this!
@ChrisMurphy19774 жыл бұрын
It’s a fairly traditional tuning for Irish Bouzouki: GDAD. Cheers, Chris

Hi Spence, thanks for your interest. The way I play it, the second half is Bm D - G D Bm G.

Any chance of getting the chords you play? The tab of even one verse would help with he chords shown as 'xxxx' (e.g. 0020 = G). Brilliant version - trying to learn it on bouzouki. Thanks.
@ChrisMurphy19773 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the interest..here’s more or less how I play it: The first half of the verse is just a bass line walk down from the D to the G chord in the first line, and to the A in the second line (0007, 0006, 0004, 0002, 0020..0007, 0006, 0004, 0022). Second half starts on a Bm7 to a D (0044 to 0002), then G D Bm G for the last line. Hope that helps.
