Seeing the records displayed at the beginning of the matches is how it should be imo. Idk if it's because of kids being single sport minded from pee wee on up or what it is. Love watching these older matches from time to time. Thanks for the upload

Look at Gable at 18:58 there behind the bench, not even coaching at that point. Just behind the bench, extremely jacked up on Tom's match. You can tell he was just a freaking weirdo, just a different kind of coach who led by just psychotic example.

Baze was a tiny guy in High School. I think he wrestled 108 pounds? He'd have never gotten recruited today because he wouldn't be able to grow into 125 pounds. He made 5th one year at OSU. Terry Brands was way better, of course.

They are such poor sportsman. Tom shoving Kendall out of bounds with a few seconds left and a large lead. Terry in particularly, extremely poor sportsmanship when he lost. They are great wrestlers and coaches but you can be great and show sportsmanship but they were never able to do that.

I'm nothing fancy (as a wrestler)... I won't get into my wrestling "credentials" - but let's just say this: I was a "stand out" wrestler (in Missouri HIGH SCHOOL)... That's right - I said high school, ladies and gentlemen. After which, I never wrestled in college... Oh - I forgot to mention that my senior year of high school was was 1995! However, as I'm watching these highly elite NCAA division II wrestlers (literally, "the best of the best" in the country) and I'm thinkin' - - I could TOTALLY beat these dudes (in my glory days, mind you)!!! I say all that to say this - - College wrestling (particularly division II) has gotten way weaker, over the years. Look - it's been 33 long assed years, since 1989 ( when this wrestling match took place), and I'm sayin' that ME - an eighteen year old nobody, from the mean streets of Union High School, could defeat Terry or Tom Brands, in their hay day.

Also this is division 1, division 2 is, like the name implies, the 2nd toughest division behind, you guessed it, division 1. I do wrestle in college, and was also a “standout” wrestler in Missouri, and I drop matches to guys that couldn’t even touch the leg hair on the Brands. It might not look like it, but there absolutely 100% are levels to this shit, and the Brands are on another one.
