what would be the alternative to the width constraints in creo?

There is no direct equivalent. I suspect that most people use the Coincident constraint with datum planes.

The width mate command makes creating assemblies easier, wish creo had that feature.

It’s easier, but my problem with the Width Mate is that it’s not real. For the same reason I’ve moved away from constraining with datums unless there’s no other choice.
