Monk never improvised on this tune, which was a special one for him. He composed it in 1957 for his wife, when she was in the hospital.

I an a big fan of Monk, but I actually far prefer this to the original. That's saying something. Well done.

i would disagree because monk had so much emotion and you could tell he really cared about this song. no disrespect to mark but they are just playing a monk tune top to bottom; monk wrote this for someone he loved and you could hear that his emotion moved with his playing.
