Every time I saw this group they played at or above this level. I was mezzmerized every single frickin time, starting in 2004 where the Mark Turner / Ethan Iverson Quartet immediately changed (on the placard and menus) to The Billy Hart Quartet at the Vanguard, and then later again at the Vanguard and at the now-defunct (Saldy, COVID) Jazz Standard on 27th I believe. It was a wonderful time to be in NYC and experience this level of music.

I cannot say enough: inverson's wynton Kelly blues in the right / the spa in space in the left; streets macro / micro swing ; turner doing that thing with vibrato like a dime spinning on 1/4 note triplet and settling with those long tones and what is there to say about the great mr. Hart? Sooooo good
