I really appreciate this review, I've been on the fence between a lake boat or kayak and a river specific, but seeing this video because I do both big water and rivers not necessarily small Creeks but I will do creeks. But thank you very much for this review, you nailed it and you answered all the gray areas that I had

I really appreciate your take on kayaking... I'm debating among several river kayaks. I'm . The Bonafide RVR 119, the tackle 2, the shoalie... I have yet to see anyone drop the skeg on the RVR119 and take it on flat water... My home territory is basically a fast flowing shallow river into a lake caused by the dam. You need a boat that can handle both flowing river and a lake in one day's paddling.

I will have a RVr review coming and side by side comparison with the Shoalie so stay tuned

I think you got me sold wade, I was debating between the shoalie and the light tackle2 for lakes and ponds big and small. I love the deck layout of the shoalie and this video has me sold on the shoalie.
@WadeHarrison Жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's awesome Buddy I try to be as fair and informative as I can with these walkthroughs and reviews and did see this design was getting pigeon holed into just a river kayak I wanted to show that its more capable than most think as a small lake/pond.
@tylerramsey3607 Жыл бұрын
@@WadeHarrison You do an excellent job on your reviews and walkthroughs. Your reviews on the ex123 sold me and now the shoalie also. I might need you to stop making these videos or something before I have 10 kayaks in my garage. Haha thanks Wade I appreciate what you do.

Great video, great company! Crescent hull designs work. I have the LiteTackle, wife has the Ultralite. I've done lots of research and for me Crescent has the best kayaks. What model Werner paddle is that? I also have a Werner adjustable paddle.
@WadeHarrison Жыл бұрын
Yes, I love the crescent brand and the paddle is the camno 2 piece

Hey Wade, does the Shoalie like to spin in circles in a current? I saw a review say it would constantly spin and try to point upriver in the current. I currently have a Vibe SeaGhost 110 and it doesn't spin out much, but I hate the center console in it. I've really been looking at the shoalie to see if it's a good replacement.

I have not experienced that at all this has a very good design for drag chains in the back and that would correct any of that anyway

I can't decide on this or the Jonny Bass 100. I'm leaning towards the Jonny Bass because I have a transom mount trolling motor that I can use with it. With this I would have to craft something to be able to mount the motor, if it's even possible. I like this one way more than the Jonny Bass, even though it is twice the price.
@WadeHarrison Жыл бұрын
Yeah I have looked at those Jonny bass but never been in one. If needed a transom mount there is another kayak by crescent call the LT 2
@Sainte305 Жыл бұрын
@@WadeHarrison I hear you, the LiteTackle 2 doesn’t have a transom and the original is out of production. Who knows, we’ll see how things go.

First off love the videos. I know nothing about kayaking except what I have seen on your channel and river king channel. I have been in a kayak one time. These videos along with the one time being in a cheap kayak and I'm hooked. I live near Savannah GA. My question is since I dont have a lot of whitewater nearby should I buy a sit on top kayak for rivers vs a whitewater kayak? My other question is after watching your videos about crescent kayaks would you buy a ck1 venture brand new for 749 or the lite tackle brand new at 599? Thanks for the help. Also just wondering do you teach people how to whitewater kayak or do you know someone that I could learn from. I hope to experience some type of whitewater before the end of summer next year.
@WadeHarrison Жыл бұрын
Yeah I love that savanna area I have never paddled there but have visited that area to check it out. And thanks for watching yeah river king has a grata channel i really appreciate Pete. And to try to answer your question where you are located honestly there not much difficult whitewater and think a boat like the Ck1 would be totally fine for everything I love that kayak on moving water it’s really good i would suggest spending little more on the ck1 over the LT for what you need.
@Em44mag Жыл бұрын
I haven’t been bucked off the Shoalie yet either but it’s probably just a matter of time. Definitely taken a couple swims off my Ck1😂 I fished on both this year quite a bit. CK1 works really good for me too and I actually prefer to play in the river on that boat. Have grown to appreciate the shoalie and also tend to use it more on flat water. Like the speed and paddling performance of the Lite tackle over both on the lake but the Shoalie drafts more shallow and is so quite compared to a Lite Tackle. The Shoalie is definitely a fishing specific boat that works good everywhere.
@WadeHarrison Жыл бұрын
Agree I love the ck1 zipping around moving currents the Shoalie truly is a do all kayak

@@WadeHarrison I would enjoy the hell out of that class III video in the ck1. We do have a few of those around me but I am just not familiar with them at all and been hesitant to jump off that cliff. Definitely been tempted and had other paddlers trying to get me out there but I’d like to get in something meant for that. Was actually planning to reach out to you on where you’d think I should get started that way.

I'd like to see that Shoalie go over a 15 foot water fall. I mean, the upper Green River would be a perfect test in NC and that's like fun class 3.

Hey Wade:) Could you please do a review on The AquaGlide Blackfoot 130? Of the 5 kayaks I own, including a Kaku Zulu(which I do love), the Blackfoot, although I was only able to take it out a few times before winter in Minnesota, is my favoritest kayak, and had I gotten it first it would probably be the only kayak I would've ever owned:) I needed a SOT throw and go(my daughter claimed my other one) and I was going back and forth between the Blackfoot and the Crescent CK1, and although I know the CK1 is an amazing Yak, I'm glad I went with the Blackfoot:) Also, the Blackfoot can handle some VERY extreme river conditions when in the right hands, so I kinda feel like you'd be the best person I follow on KZbin to test it's limits. Anyway, that's what I would love to see you do in the future:) Thanks, and keep up the amazing videos, we all appreciate you:)
