I prefer 10th scales for daily use, they make a huge difference for complex numbers and multiple marking points on many objects. Nice review.

How many ways can you see on my rant around the kaleidoscope. 🤣🤪 ... you must have met some apprentices like them along the way.

My first ever retracting tape measure was an all metal body, 16 foot Lufkin. It had a little toggle on the side that locked the extended tape into place. I got it when I was doing Apprentice Carpentry, way long ago! Still have the tape, and it still works. Having said that, Lufkin is so FAR removed from what they used to be. I picked up one of these newer styles with the black and green, but returned it. Spring return was very poor, and at about 6 feet of the 25 foot long tape, it was almost a “U” shape! Sad. Catus, your disassembly talent and videos are great, but you DO NOT want to ever take a tape measure apart! If you do, wear gloves, and take a deep breath. You’ll be in for a heckuva task. Stay safe and Healthy! 👏🏻👍👍👍✌🏻😁🇺🇸

Looks like a good tape got probably 10 but may try it if I see it in the big box been at one place in NY and got some Armstrong sockets and few other things for a few bucks don't get out much anymore but the wife took me out anyway what was really funny the sockets were ingraved with the company model shop name they were only getting snap on but the cheap stuff was Armstrong and got a whole bag for a dollar but years ago when you retire they gave you your tool box I was in r&d but the tool box I had was snap on probably had 20+ k in tools the gang box was huge untold how much that was worth.

My father in law was a Mechanic specialized in rear ends and transmissions in Lauderdale. We played along the way. ...he said something like that to me. ..."he said, all that money he spent on tools. Snap on, Makita and Matco......and so on. He said he couldn't take it to the junkyard and have it melted down and get back what it was worth. I had to look at him and think "Why? Can you hear the question that was asked?

When i was 22. I got on a hi rise job on South Beach, Miami Beach . I was on the column crew. (To all of you aot there when thy show you South Beach Miami the building is peach in color along side the water way) ... As we were going up. The company hired on an a Apprentice from a south American country. ... So he spoke very little English. So the lead man sent a Cuban to speak with him. ...he came back ans said " I cant completely understand him. ...So he called on someone else with a different Spanish dialect. He came back and said. I dont know what this kid is saying to me. He must be part of a south American Indian tribe. So. They gave him to me and my partner on the building to learn how to read a Tape measure. Before they were going to send him downstairs to be a laborer. This guy, in 1995 pulled out a "Lufkin, Tap measure. And Pat said i need that plywood cut to 0-17 5/8 by 0-12 ( that is 1-0 (1) foot to those) This kid 19 maybe 20? Had a Lukin tape measure that had a digital reading. At the end of the tape measure. ....well he got the cut wrong. We kept him on the top floor. ...we pointed at what we needed. But we taught Him how to read a tape measure. ... ive never seen a tape measure like that again. Four Real! 🤪 Kill Roy was here¿
