Personally, I feel that the hate in these comments is completely and utterly unfair and nonsensical. The actual OST of Hibike! Euphonium was performed by Japanese Students in Japan who undergo much different types of band than we do in the states. This is obviously a band of Students who have deadlines and other pressing matters of being a student. This piece is also one that is insanely difficult. I think that while yes, it's not a 1 to 1 performance, that the will of these students to perform it as well as they did should be applauded instead of so heavily criticized.

If y'all really watched the anime, you all would know that this is a difficult piece to play. Although they can do better, this could be considered an okay performance( minus the mic problems(I think)).

shame to everyone giving them unnecessary hate in the comments. these guys are clearly hobbyist musicians and students that play whatever is given to them, often on tight schedules. i for one enjoyed the performance - sure it wasn't perfect technically, but they brought the fun and energy, and how often do you get to see obscure anime osts like this outside of japan? i guess they have to be sorry that they aren't recording in a professional studio for a large-budget anime and can't meet your musical standards (which seem to have been formed entirely based on the anime, since no one here knows or appreciates how hard it is to learn one of these instruments).

why does it sound out of tune. ouch. that beginning trumpet fanfare is important. But overall the contrasting of the instruments were well done. I would say overall tuning, and the energy contrasting. dynamics were well executed. well done

definitely not as good as the anime. Balance issues especially in the brass. tongue technique in the high brass needs work. the runs in the woodwinds aren’t that good either. wrong notes in the trumpet solo, also out of tune. trombones stick out too much in some parts. some sections aren’t playing together.

Yeah, but not only the technique was wrong. The timing was all over the place and if they took more time to focus on when a part is important, this would've sounded a lot better.

This song should take time to learn and play it like u would play in your heart. Not rushing or making it loud. This needs a lot of work. And the people are too close to eachother.
