Nice! I'm going to be driving through Colorado in a couple weeks and I think I'll stop in Crested Butte and do some mountain biking. Any suggestions for a good intermediate trail?

Mr727db Check out the Trailforks app for trails that will be near your trip route. It will show the difficulty levels of each trail. The app also has recommended routes on the “desktop” version. Hopefully some locals can chime in on their favorite rides in this thread.

Do you carry a water purification system like a Sawyer or Steripen on long rides like this?

Ken Nogawa not usually. Just a full large camelback and two full water bottles.

Looks like a extinct volcano crater. I am from Australia so not familiar with that area obviously. Do you get bears there?

Max T We did not seen any on this particular ride but we are sure they are out there. Maybe some of the other riders can chime in and let us know about their bear sightings in the area.
