Hey thanks David. Glad you enjoyed it. Maybe next time we'll get a real XC. Planned to head toward Phoenix on that following Friday as I was going home to AZ, but launch was socked in with weather... we'll get a good XC flight out of there and post it sometime. See ya.

Hi Jeff, The inversion remained throughout the day, the thermals got mellower, but still topped out at the same altitude. Not sure about the temp inversion at the craters that you mentioned.... hadn't heard anything about that before. As far as the AJX approach... I dunno what the rules are for the PG approaches, maybe a PG or two would speak up here about it... Best, Greg

During your 3 hour flight, did the inversion break? If so, does this cause any turbulence? I am new to this sport and at the craters a temperature inversion can become dangerous after morning. Also, at Andy Jackson paragliders are supposed to fly a right-hand pattern that puts them over electrical wires, and that made me nervous.
